  • Man that looks so comfy too ~ Not Familiar with winter ? OK, so it's pretty intense. Sort of like mudslides, wild fires, earth quakes, sink holes, flash floods and even land sides.

Same here for last night and all day today. Our power went out about 9:30 last night, crazy winds here. Still off now. I had to snowblow a trail from the barn to the house just to drag the generator o

Good tune!

Same scenario here. I’m sure we won’t get as much though. Nonetheless, we’ll have a white Christmas, and the snow will brighten things up around here. It’s been so gloomy and grey around here. I swear we haven’t seen the sun in about a month!

Yup ~

We NEVER see the sun

and I'm OK with that as long as we get the snow.

Dead brown frozen ground is just De-Pressing !

I got another 1-2 inches here overnight and its still snowing.  At least this morning its the fluffier type and not the heavy wet slop again.

Kind of getting sick of this now 4 days in a row.  Getting snow like this for days on end is unusual, even for here.  I know you Great Lakes guys get it almost every day sometimes, but for the interior where I am, its rare.

I'm just waiting for the temps to drop and all this slush we got turns into hard ice....now where did I put the 5# maul again?

It’s currently 38 degrees, a bit windy and some cloud cover is supposed to move in during the next hour. I’m about to have my last session as single digits are in next weeks forecast. About to go jerkbait the evening away at a pond. My first post front December try at it.

Sitting on the couch with the dog ?

We just had an ice storm yesterday with a half inch of sleet.

Wife said the roads down in the valley are drivable but heavily salted.

Salt is good on fries, not undercarriages...... I'll just stay home.

They use way too much salt on our roads here too.  And then when spring comes and it melts, a rain washes all of it into the watershed.  Gee, I wonder why our lakes are becoming more brackish.

It’s been quite sunny here the last two days, a welcome change. Cold and windy but not that cold. Going fishing in the morning, maybe spinnerbait will work. Predicted to be sunny, windy, and mid 30s air temp

You keep giving that spinnerbait a proper chance, you’ll get on em with it yet ?

We got about 8” of “heart attack” snow here last night. I hit the end of both my driveways with the snowblower before I went to work, just to get the bank from the plow chopped down before it froze. Even the blower didn’t like it, it was so thick and packed. Finished the driveways this evening before it all froze, now we’re supposed to get up to another foot over the weekend, but at least it’ll be colder so not will be fluffy stuff that’s easier to move.

That sounds like a whole lot of work just to get free and go to work ………. No problem sleeping after a day like that

Winter weather advisory until 1 am tomorrow with lake effect snowing. We’ve gotten 5” of snow in about 12 hrs and it’s still snow. Forecast calls for snow every day for the next 6 days. Pretty safe to say we’re going to have a white Christmas. I’m good with that.

Holy smoke those are some bitter windchills! Your weather is bitter cold, comes across the lake, warms up, sucks up a bunch of moisture, blocks the sun, and dumps said moisture all over us.

I’m pretty sure I’ll take the white stuff over those temps.

Well, I got another inch of fluffy snow over night. That’s 5 days in a row of snow here now. I don’t think that’s ever happened since I’ve been living here.

I'm sure it's happened, but I can't remember when. I've been in the same house since 1986, and other than my 4 years in Omaha courtesy of the USAF, I've been in MN since 1974.

Like @12poundbass, we’re getting a dumping here as well. No squalls or wind to speak of as of right now, just good ole snow coming down. Good husky weather through!

Grand Rapids got 10.5” yesterday. A little further north and further east of the lake we got 8-9”. Watching the local weather they said we have not seen the sun in 11 days and it doesn’t look like we will for at least the next 7!

@MN Fisher your bitter cold temps will arrive here Friday. Not as cold as yours but they’re saying highs Friday-Sunday low teens.

I got another dusting of snow over night. That’s 6 days of snow in a row.

Its about 4 degrees out this morning, but at least the sun is out.

We have about 16” total on the ground now, and another dump of it coming by the looks of the radar. Wasn’t too bad today though. The sun was shining a good portion of the day, with heavy snow off and on for just a little bit at a time, and it’s right around the freezing mark with no wind, so at least you can go outside and not be too uncomfortable. This was what it looked like an hour ago or so.

That's us today, Kent - we topped out at a whopping 9 degrees.
