How did your 1st day I’d summer go?

Mine was at home and simply enjoying the great weather @ 72 degrees.

Tom

Went fishing this evening and stayed out until 830, gorgeous sunset too.

It’s been raining hard and temp dropped into the 60’s.  Coldest first day of summer on record.  It’s my daughter’s birthday so we went to the Oyster House in Middleburg, Virginia.

We had the opposite - official high was 92, but outside my house reached 95...definitely summer. Other than running out this morning for an errand, I've been 'hibernating' in the cooler house.

Mowing lawns in the heat, with my mind on bass and bass on my mind.

Could be worse. It’s like 120 degrees in Texas this week. Virtually uninhabitable.

Correction to that, buddy

Totally uninhabitable...

Just back from trip to Frances Case in South Dakota...Our camper and my brother's boat. Great time!  Caught some smallies, and a walleye.

Wife's first time at Frances Case...and in this boat. She's not a fisherman...read her book, and enjoyed being on the water.

Always look forward to June 21, first off today was our 55 year anniversary, so I like that. Went and played a round of golf today, had a great time up until my dumb back started cramping up, luckily I got through 15 holes before hand but was 4 strokes over my normal score, still a good day !

Been a rainy cold front but me and jr found a dink at the pond in the rain after work anyways.  Supposed to be warmer and rain today so maybe we catch a bigger fish today?

Definitely got my sites on the weekend at this point but I have been enjoying the nobody at the pond the nasty weather has brought!

Long day. Took nearly 1.5 hours to get home. Fishing wise, very nice. Got to the lake at about 9:20 and it was getting dark. I had my 2-piece shimano compre rod and set it up for the drop shot with a 3” senko. Hooked a nice 2.5-3 pounder around 9:35. As I got it closer to me I realized I was going to the gym and didn’t want to get smelly fish hands so after I pulled her in close enough  just to see her side parallel to the surface, and I let my line go slack. She knew what to do. She easily threw my barbless owner mosquito hook with a vigorous head swipe and then she waved good bye to me with her tale.

I had enough time to cycle at a moderate pace for 25 minutes on a bike and unfortunately that was all I had time to do before the gym closed. I’m finally getting serious about getting back in shape and losing weight. I guess I still have some cyclist left in me. I was able to nearly 80% of my max heart rate for 15 of those 25 minutes in hill climbing mode and I didn’t feel out of breath or out of whack. Not bad for only my second time (yesterday was the first) in probably over a year. I will be working in some solo racquet ball and weights very soon.

I think this was a nice way to start the summer for me.

I did what I usually do, work. Spent some quiet time at a park before going home. After night church , I come home to find that we are having AC problems with the thermostat not turning off the system, It felt like the north pole inside when I got up this morning.

It could be the other way around so…thankful for that…

Spent the day down in the keys with my wife celebrating our 53 year anniversary.

-work

-Gym

-Pick up daughter

-play/cook with daughter

-play/bed time with daughter

-Caulked accent wall I put up for my wife as one of her bday gifts.

-Got in bed to try and watch an episode on TV for the 5th time in a row...made it 5 minutes past the previous night and passed out.

First day without rain/thunderstorms since the weekend.  I was off work so took my boy out fishing at a couple new spots.

First two were pretty weedy, milfoil, Lilly pads, cattails, etc. and we managed to catch a few smaller fish throwing our Texas rigs into holes in the vegetation but this place was screaming for a frog and heavy braid and we really weren’t equipped for fishing heavy cover.

Tried a third spot we’d never even heard on the advice of a fellow angler we met at the boat ramp.  Ended catching a 2lbs 6oz LMB which is a pretty respectable fish around these parts.

Worked on the truck, wishing I was out fishing.

I put in about 7 hrs of work, fixing some siding on a rental house of my daughters. Around 90 degrees here and very humid. Worked up a good sweat.

Our day started out cold ( 53 degrees) overcast, misty, foggy. Perfect fishing weather. after the first hour the mist, fog, stopped, leaving a overcast, mirror calm lake. Catch of the day was a 3 lb. LM. on a Whopper Plopper.

 Perfect first day of summer.

That's a big load behind that truck.  No shortage of terrible mileage towing that setup lol

5th wheel and boat come out to around 13,500 lbs. Got 10.5 MPG going north...and 9.5 MPG coming home, but in to a strong south wind. I'l take it! The Duramax pulls well.

First time double pulling. Easier than it looks...just take your time, and give yourself plenty of time to stop.

I bet backing up is a bit of a headache lol

I do not even try to backup. Constantly thinking ahead...plan stops at semi-tractor-trailer friendly fuel stations. When arrived at campground, dropped the boat...parked the camper...then went back for the boat.
