Other than wire diameter we need to consider the distance from the line tie to the swivel. Longer arm has more flex thus creating more vibration. Short arms flex less & put more emphasis on blade design.

 

Blade design is another part of the equation. Deep cupped blades create more vibration than flater blades.

 

Blade finish has a lot to do with flash. In off colored water painted blades excel, yet they're seldom mentioned here.

I have made up many as well. Best way to get exactly what you want. I don’t really feel like contributing to a long conversation about spinnerbait design since that’s not what this thread is about and the OP did not ask for it, but for anyone curious, there are plenty of spinnerbait threads over the past few years where we went very far down this rabbit hole. There is a lot that goes into spinnerbait design and every detail matters.

     I really love those spinner baits too.  There is one serious drawback for me and that is the twisted line tie.  If the spinner spins/helicopters in the air and that happens fairly frequently when I cast.  The line becomes pinched where the twisted wires meet and damages my line.

     I've thought about trying them with a snap to see if it would prevent the line from catching in the twist.  If anyone has found a fool proof solution for the problem, I'd love to hear about it.

I couldn't care less if my spinnerbait vibrates more or less than yours. I fish during the day in clear water, so it's a visual thing (to me). .035 or larger dia. wire, preferably not a "r" bend, a sampo or worth b.b. swivel, usually gold blades, and a skirt i make up, and a good trailer hook...$5 each.

Wish they had a 1/2oz.   The 3/4oz may run close to the same depth as a 1/2oz tandem willow I suppose.  I'm a massive fan of the flo red kicker blade.

You could add a bit of weight on the 3/8 oz to the hook side of the weight to make it 1/2 oz.

My son in law put a white swimbait trailer on it. It was the only spinnerbait he had like that. His biggest bass was over 6#. At one point he ran his boat over a log to get back to where the spinnerbait was snagged to retrieve it. He caught most of his fish on that spinnerbait. The thing looked pretty beat up after the tournament and is hanging from his trophy today  It was definitely worth the price to him

The best spinnerbait fisherman I fished with threw the Manns Classic most of the time. He just made them work .

You could assemble 5 of those for $20.

These are great for the money….

Terminator , Excalibur and Strike King Spin Dance with the Oklahoma blades all caught loads of bass.  I make my own and try to copy  these three. The Fleck Weedwader with  white Indiana blades is another favorite. Next time I order blades I will get some white ones to copy it.

You and Mike with your rebar frame spinnerbaits! If I was catching 4+lb SM in clear water I would use it to.

I don't use snaps on my spinnerbaits. I believe they negatively affect the action and natural appearance of the lure. I have had some issues with the line getting out of place on the lure, too. But never an issue with the line damage. The biggest con, for me, I've had in the past the Bass hitting the lure so hard the lure is mangled and damaged to a point of no more use. Those thin wires don't always hold up.  Don't use it now as much as I did years ago. Still, it's a fine spinnerbait.

Hank Parker preferred the Indiana blade in gold.
