For me, one day of this crap is one day too many. Having suffered both heat stroke and heat exhaustion in the past, I've no desire to repeat those.

Oh I hear ya and I'm with you on those days.  I just stay inside and enjoy my air conditioning.

I was simply pointing out how comfortable its been here for virtually the entire spring/summer so far.  Certainly been a nice change compared to the last several years of heat, humidity, drought, and wildfires.

Nice but that's just way too early for me.

Once the Ferns begin to yellow in advance of the leaves changing colors

is the 'signal' for me.

That's my signal too, except that's putting me in a tree looking for a different brown critter.  I'm also not catch and release.

Nope. I'm not a fan of the heat, but I just adjust my fishing schedule accordingly. I got started at 02:00 and finished up at 11.45 today. I am ready for some rain and some cooler nights though. That'll get the fish moving shallow, and up into the creek arms in big numbers.

I haven't been fishing due to the heat and humidity in South Louisiana.  The older I get the less tolerant I am of heat.  I can't wait for cold fronts to start rolling through.

You muskie fished for almost 10 hours?  Good lord dude.  Are you even human?  I'm probably 20 years younger than you and I can't even do it for half that long chucking those lures on 8 foot rods.

Double 10's on a 9'6" XXH in the dark, so about 3.5 hrs of that. Mostly double 8's on a 9' H after daylight, but also spent about an hour ripping a regular medussa over milfoil on the XXH. My forearms feel like they got run over by a truck, and my back feels like I got kicked between the shoulder blades by a mule.

Have you tried going out at mid day? That’s when I find the most consistent bite. Once overnight temps drop that consistency goes away and fishing becomes tough. That’s been my experience year after year.

Are you asking this to me?

I rarely fish midday.  Its either 1) way too hot, or 2) way too many recreational boats, or 3) both.

The OP is in Missouri.  The heat index there is like 115 degrees in the shade there this week lol

I am ready for some cooler weather. It has been so hot and humid I have done very little fishing. Right now we are in a rainy and stormy pattern which will help with the drought we are in.

I love spring and summer.  I tolerate fall and despise winter.

Yep, it's going to be 109 this Friday. Nonetheless, I love summer.  Maybe because it lasts maybe 6 weeks in my neck of the woods.

My least favorite month of the year is August.  I could live in a constant October.

It’s been brutally hot here in GA for over a month and there’s no end in sight. But after a month of no rain we now have thunderstorms almost every day, mostly on my days off.

While I haven’t spent a lot of time on my kayak, I take some casts off my dock and backyard every morning and evening. All spring it was great fishing out there in the spring, it’s terrible now. There’s a plethora of bluegill and pumpkinseed, but no bass. They must be chasing the shad elsewhere.

Despite the poor fishing, I enjoy the relaxation out and around the water.

I love fall the fishing can be great the weather can be great. I usually take a lot of time off from work in October.

I went pond fishing after work for about an hourish and I was soaked in sweat. Yeah, Im ready for fall.

Screw fall I’m ready for winter. Just push mowed  for three hours straight in a heat advisory and it will need done again in less than a week. And that’s just one out of five of the yards I mow
