Welcome aboard, Mike! 🤙

Welcome Mike.  I was raised in Pekin, IL just a little to your south.  Moved to Rockford after college in '89 but my son works in Peoria so I get back there often.

Welcome!  I'm in the same area.  Have any favorite lakes?

I dont have a boat or a kayak (Plan on getting one eventually) but for now eureka lake , bowen in washington (not a good place to fish imo) and sometimes spring lake. if the river is up a bit il try the boat dock area in pekin. I need to find more places to fish this year though

Ok.  I've got an idea of where you're located.  Don't hesitate to try Banner Marsh.  Especially if you get a kayak or jon boat.  You may be able to bank fish at Spring Lake and that's got good bass.  I heard that Powerton got flooded out and dumped into the river some years back and hasn't recovered, but I have no first-hand knowledge of that.

Welcome! I have family that live near and fish Sangchris lake in Illinois. I've been up there once and fished it. There was a ton of bass in that lake.

I used to live in Macomb, IL for a while and used to go out to Banner Marsh every now and then. I never did well there but that was also 30ish years ago. It is beautiful though. Heard of some lunker but like I said, never produced for me.
