Best Braid Scissors?

Featured Replies

What is everybody’s favorite scissors for cutting braid? I will also be using it to cut 80-100LB braid also.

These are my go to for price. Often when there are sales you can pick them up for a buck or two and somehow at this point I’ve got like 10 pair floating around.

I tried a pair of cudas and they didn't work well for me. I wonder if it's cus I'm left handed. I stick to boomerang snips or linecutterz

My two sons and I use Boomerangs for the last 5-6 seasons since all of use use one or more setups with braided line now.

B-rangs cut 15-65lb braid like its mono.

my braid scissors are either "titanium" fiskars craft scissors, i think I paid $6 for 2 pair, or my hakko fine wire cutters. the fiskars are my go to though.

Me too ~

Not sure if they are the best but if you can put a decent edge on a knife,

Disassembly on these is 1 screw.

A few strokes of both sides down a medium (1000-ish grit) stone,

and these are ready for another season.

I only use them on braid.

I use them for everything. I’m on my second pair in 20 years as the first pair blew out of the boat.

Rapala there pretty good and can’t beat the price.

I several of two different kinds. Rapala and the cheap fabric scissors from Walmart. Either are $5 or less, sharp as heck and last forever or until I step on them and break the plastic finger holes (hence the multiple pairs).

I use the same as @gim, the Rapala superline scissors that are like $5. They work perfect.

Another vote for Rapala. Dirt cheap, work well, and last quite a while. They cut 100# braid with ease.

Been very happy with the Cuda scissors,I get them at walmart for something around $5, sometimes even less.

Cudas are all I use - tossed my other fishing scissors. Sometimes Amazon has a special on them...got my 3 pair for $3.99 each.

My wife has some very expensive scissors made in Switzerland, that my mom gave her. My Mom bought them at a fabric store, many years ago. At the time she said they were very expensive and that was at a time when My Dad claimed gas ever got over 65 cents a gallon, it would bankrupt the world. I was never allowed to use them for anything while growing up. Even after a turned 50 I didn't dare ask. Now My wife now has them, and I'm trying to think of a way they can spend some time in my kayak. My Mom simply threatened me with my life, if I ever touched them, and she meant it. My wife does not believe in violence, but I'm not yet ready to question her beliefs. Bait Monkey is zero help with this one. He doesn't even talk with his cousin the Fabric Monkey, and flat refuses to think of any tool other than a knife or pliers as made for fishing.

I use: “The Boomerang Tool The Snip” … Search this name on google - it works great !

I’ve got a whole bunch of Walmart craft scissors in various places around the boat. The absolute best I have though are the $7 Bass Pro split ring pliers/braid cutter - they’re the only thing I’ve ever had that will consistently and cleanly cut 6lb braid.
