Must Have for 2009: 10" Anaconda
Many of the lakes I fish always have muddy or heavily stained water. I love to sight fish but on these lakes it is difficult at best. I usually resort to swimming a lizard through spawning flats but I might have to give swimming an Anaconda a try. I used it once last year in clear water and didn't catch anything on it but I can tell you this. It's got a different action than any of my other 10" worms. It should give off allot more vibration in that muddy water. Who knows, I'll at least give it a good try.

Best Fish Finder?
It all depends on how well you read a graph. Someone who knows the ins and outs of his $150 graph is alot better off then someone with limited knoledge of their $1,000 graph. If you want one that is easy to learn then you might want to get a color one.

It Don't get no better than that!
You don't need to catch one for LBH. He's fishing the Delta with Robert the next two days. I caught 6 on Tuesday and your weather is coming my way so guess where I'll be most of next week. 8-)

What's your Best Deal Ever?
Mine would have to be some Yo Zuri shallow crankbaits. They retail for 9.95. Bass Pro Online screwed up and marked them for .95. So I bought 15 of them. And they are catching machines.

man am i having problems!
One more time....... SPOT REMOVERS ARE NOT SHAKEY HEADS AND WEREN'T DESIGNED TO BE LIKE ONE!!!!!! They are a stand-up jig head. If you want to shake your worm then by all means get some shaky head. And Spot Removers have Owner hooks.

man am i having problems!
I recommend the Original Spot Remover. I have never had problems keeping the worm on it. There is a little trick to it. I don't think I can explain it without showing it to you. I might have to make a video on how to do it. But once it's done the right way you can make a worm last for three or four fish. I just wish Buckeye would increase the size of the hooks on all their Spot Removers.

Tagging Fish you catch
Or you could just catch 100 fish and get their average weight and then catch 100 fish the next year and get their average weight and you will have a good idea of how much you fish are growing.

man am i having problems!
Oh I didn't miss it I was just hoping he'd answer my first questions first. But since he didn't I'll tell you why the Pro Model is probably the problem. On the Pro Model there is a little wire screw that holds the worm on the jig. When you set the hook the head of the worm stays attached to the screw and the body slides along the shank of the hook. This caused the space between the point and the shank to be filled with worm and many times will keep you from hooking the fish. Now with the original Spot Remover there is a little peg. When you set the hook the head of the worm slides off of this peg and the body slides down the shank of the hook. This leaves the space between the point and the shank open for a good hookset. No matter which one you are using you must remember to always set over your head and not off to the side. A Med/Hvy rod is best and a low stretch line is even better.

How are you setting the hook? (To the side or over your head) What weight Spot Remover are you using?

Line and Lure question
Bizz, It's my understanding that the water in line & lure is the delivery system. It allows the polymers to penetrate between the line on the spool. It dries quickly. I'm sure Rob will have a more scientific answer.

ROAD TRIP UPDATE.......
Good call Bud. If you could make that happen it would be great.

what would you call this water clarity? PICS!!!
I fish so many different clarities of water during the year that I've started getting away from thinking of weather the water is stained, dingy, muddy, etc. I've started looking at it as "How far can the bass see in the water." I take a lure, (usually white) and let it sink in the water. When it disappears I stop and measure the length of the line. I then double it and that's as far as the bass can see. I use that information along with the color of the water to choose the color and action of my lures. ....... I hope this makes sense.

Suckiest Saturday Competition.
I got off work at 8am Saturday morning after a 15hr shift. I stayed at work and slept an extra hour just so I could make it home. I got home and crawled into bed and slept for seven hours. I got up, took a shower, dressed, shoved a sandwich into my mouth and back out the door for another 15hr shift....... I've been doing that every Saturday for almost 6 years now.
