Fishing pressure! Ugh!
Just don't let it get in your head. Most anglers are just chunking and winding. they pick off the more agressive fish. Get in and truly fish the spots. you will find many more. They just need someone to slow down and force feed them. Heck, if I only fished a spot no one else had touched I would never wet a hook.

Attention Boat Owners (Good News)
Thanks! I and my 2 stroke are relieved. Did not think it would ever be implemented, but you never know with some of the idiots that are running our country.

is this astro boat worth the money
Personally, due to the distance and age of the boat , I would not even consider the deal. The first thing is that the carbs are going to need an overhaul(300.00-500.00), and unless you personally know this guy, you are at the mercy of his word. Good luck with that.

flippin gear ratio
I flip with the 5.1 due to the power.

Worst tackle investment you have made...
X2. Paid 18.00 for it back in the mid 90s. Never have been bit on it.

Anyone have any guidance on Zara Spook colors?
Bright clear days the clear is the one I have had the most success with. Other times most any color as long as it has a white belly and a light blue back.

sEXY sHAD COLOR CRAZE
First day I fished it was last Septemper on lake Falcon practicing for the TABC state championship. Four over six pounds that day made a believer in me. It was the Series 6 crankbait in Sexy Shad. I painted a swimbait the same color that night and caught a 10.4 on the third cast the next morning. Another color may have worked as well, but I'm not one to argue with success.

Need help reading Topo
I would kill for maps that old. They are the ones that have the lay of the land as it was originally laid out. All you need to do is get the original elevation of the lake and draw it in. You will have more info on those maps than any that were produced after the lake was impounded. I have several of Sam Rayburn from back in the 1940s and it is amazing the detail that is on them. you have the maps no one else has so put them to good use. They are a gold mine.

Fishing pressure! Ugh!
J-Boogie, get over it. Everyone these days has to deal with fishing pressure. nothing worse than hitting the water and seeing boats sitting on your fishing areas. there are things you can do to offset this: Be sneaky. Don't laugh at this one. Fish become wary of boats and fishermen. Dropping a lid, throwing the TM into the water, or running the TM on short high burst will cause the fish to shut down. Be as quite as possible. Run the TM on a low constant speed or use the wind to blow you across an area. Keep the sun at your back and make long cast. Make multiple cast to a target and at different angles Try to fish the wind. It will help comoflage you and the boat. It also will energize the food chain and it tends to have less pressure due to the fact that most anglers try to stay out of it. Map the deeper areas to locate any offshore structure and cover that others have not taken the time to locate. If you must follow others down a bank or grass line throw something different or fish it at different angles or depths. Multiple cast to a target will help. Fish at night. Good luck.

New innovative product for fishing
I think they are giving way to much credit to the fish for being smart.

Lead Weights or Other?
Tungsten only. The weights are smaller and more uniform as to weight. I hate paying $5.00 for two weights or $5.00 for four of another weight, but that's the way it goes.

O2 Content
I am in total agreement with LBH and Nitroman. Many lakes are known for the lack of ozygen at the deeper depths. Perfect example would be Logan Martin in Alabama. Most of the fish are caught 1-15 feet due to the lack of oxygen in the deeper water. If you will adjust the gain on your depth finders you should be able to see the thermocline. Try fishing the areas where the wind pushes plankton up in shallow water. It will increase the oxygen, put the fish in a more aggressive mood, and stir up the entire food chain. Remember, the wind is your friend, but most anglers avoid it. Good luck.

overgrown lake (with underwater weeds/moss)
I would fish the frog anytime of day as well as large worms and jigs. I would scan the outer edges of the grass for any ditches or underwater points that lead out to deeper water. Also, move out away from the grass line and search for scatered grass patches in deeper water. These will hold the larger fish and do not get hammered by the everyday fishermen. Good luck

what makes a "bass boat"?
The person running it determines what type of boat it may be. Feel free to make yours any type you so desire.
