The last minute fishing trip, and a really BIG spider.

With air temperature in the low 90’s and the water around 74 degrees I figured it was a good time to pick up the punchin’ rod. My best fish came when my bait was inhaled as it fell through the mat. I decided to use the net to keep her pinned as opposed trying to hand line her through the slop. Once on board it was like opening a Christmas or Fishmas present to see what ya got... in this case a big, thick and healthy 4.8lb delta bass

Favorite Ice cream thread!
Cold Stone’s German Chocolate Cake or a bowl of Tillamook French Vanilla with a little Hershey’s chocolate syrup drizzled over it. And I really don’t mind some of that Tillamook French Vanilla on top of a piece of apple or peach pie, especially after a Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner...

Which jig heads do you use for shaky head?
https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/BOSS_Shakey_Jig_Head/descpage-BOSSSKH.html Looks like you’ve got a solid lineup @NavyVet1204, but I’ll throw the ones I’m partial to into the fray just to keep it interesting

Favorite lure type
Favorite lure type @BassSteve- it’s gonna be topwater. Put two people together fishing and one is throwing something on top, BOTH of ‘em will be concentrating on that topwater lure anticipating the strike. Otherwise, it’s whatever the fish want and you can keep one rod in your hand on that particular day.

I had a really fun morning throwing a chatter- er a vibrating jig. The fish would knock a foot or two of slack in the line on the initial strike as opposed to stopping it in its tracks. I was able to put a 4.7lb, 3.9lb and a 3.7lber in the boat for some photos. And to think my first fish of the day was easily an inch shorter than the spook he decided to pick on....

Drag washers.
A little carnauba wax periodically is the ticket.

Drag washers.
This was my first pandemic projects @Ski, replacing drag washers with Carbontex and a light coat of Shimano DG13 grease. I purchased the Carbontex drag washers from eBay for roughly $10 with free shipping or directly from Smoothdrag. I just wanted to to keep my old green tanks ah rolling. #moneywellspent
