Casting with your off hand
No man or beast is safe, including myself, if I try to cast left handed. The only ones that safe are the fish

Counting bass
I usually keep track with a couple pieces of cord, tie a loose knot for every fish. Every five or ten tie a knot on the second. You can adjust the count to your needs. No fuss, no muss. It can go any where with ya, doesn’t need batteries, and won’t hurt it if it gets wet. Military thing… from keeping track of distance, before gps.

Could have been tragic! Check your PFD.
I stopped at a little restaurant on the water to get a sandwich and a coke. The waitress ask if “I was afraid of falling out of the chair and drowning?” Then I realized I was still wearing my pdf at the table. We all got a good laugh on me, she said it happens all the time.

Pressure from livescope?
I turn off all electronics, even pull the trolling motor and pole in to where I’m hunting the big ones. Just like cyberdyne systems they’re learning.

Powerbait Bass Attractant Thoughts?
I’m on the fence with attractants. With moving baits, Texas rigged worms, etc etc… I’m not sure if they zone in on my bait, versus seeing or hearing it. But I do believe it makes them hold on longer, and gives me time to detect a bite then set the hook. I read somewhere a bass can take in and spit out your bait in less that 1/2 a second, if it doesn’t appeal to them. Bottom line …. I use attractants I’ll take all the help I can get.

Confident Baits
Yes confidence has a lot to do with it. When you fish a bait a lot, because it catches fish for ya. You get better casting it, where, and accurately because you use it a lot. Like you, Texas rigged ribbon or curly tail is my go to. Crank baits were my weakness, I dedicated a whole season to last year. My numbers dropped but the did get better by end of the year. Before I didn’t use them because I was convinced they wouldn’t bite them. Now I know it was me all the time and I can catch fish with them. Texas rigged ribbon is still my favorite though.

BPS Johnny Morris Combos
I have two of BPS, carbonlite 2.0 set ups. I love them. Have a BPS extreme too, was my first bait caster. Have a few more Bass pro stuff too. I don’t see any problems with their stuff

SpinCast Reels Beginner Advice
I have both the omega and the bullet…. Both are great reels, the omega is in the truck, for that spot ya find when out on the road. The bullet has a faster retrieval, I love using it for skipping. Both of mine are the size 20, they are easier to palm and have handled everything I’ve put them through. Nothing wrong with the 33, it is a “tried and true reel”, many, many of fish have been caught on them. I still one of those too.

Techniques for clearing a backlash.
I usually try and park the line guide in the middle, that way it doesn’t have to pull extreme far side to another, if that make sense. As for getting them out, after I get one. I try and keep my thumb close the the spool so when I feel it about to blow up, I can stop it. Hopefully it won’t be too bad, can pull it out. I pinch and pull the line up and get it loose on the spool, while pulling the main line out. I don’t know if I’m explaining it right.
