  1. Does fishing get better or worse during turnovers?
  2. I hate to hear about accidents like this, I feel for all those involved and their families. I wonder how it happened, the boats are getting faster and all it takes is a “ look away” or look down at what is rolling around in the floor. Things happen so fast.
  3. My wife and I live on the water, when we first moved here I actually fished less. Always something had to be done, or I thought so. Now I’ll get out there real early fish till midday, then come home cut the grass or whatever. Or get what needs to be done early in the day and head out and fish till dark…. or after. When I wasn’t living on the water and trailering to the water I set a day and I went, no matter what. Rain, wind or whatever. Now that we live on the water I’m a little more flexible about it.
  4. Yep I know how ya feel…. But I did promise her I’d do a few things around the house here. Oh well, means I get to fish during the week. Less people out.
  5. Fishing has always be a pleasurable moment in my life, even when it sucked, it was better than normal life. Example… my nephew called the other day, ask me if I remembered the time we went fish on the old skyway bridge…. Storm came up it was lightning and we were laying as flat as we could on the bridge. Then it rained for about 20 minutes hard as we’d ever seen it. Every body else packed up and ran for their cars, we stayed it cleared up and we fishing all night, we were soaked and all our gear was wet. We laughed about that night for a while on the phone…. Fishing is just good times.
  6. I stand corrected desmobob ….. I said I took pictures for bragging rights… Then I saw you pics of your first fishing trip. It brought back memories of a picture I have of my Grandmother and I holding up trout, our catch of the day. So not only do pictures give ya bragging right, but can bring back a flood of memories. We fished from morning till night, I fell asleep at the dinner table. Good times
  7. I like Manns “minus-1” or Bass Pro’s “the egg”. Both have worked pretty good for me, The egg is cheaper and more colors
  8. I had a big bull come up to my Jon boat and do the vibrating dancing water thing, and bellow. I exited stage left pretty quick. I’ve got a couple places that I go to, and shortly after arrival one pops up. They must be pretty confident that I’m going to catch something, haha
  9. Don’t let ‘‘em get ya down. If they don’t want to believe you or don’t at least consider your advise then…. “ no soup for them”
  10. I have one 7 footer, the rest are between 6’ and 6’6”.
  11. Hi from the Sunshine State of Fl
  12. My grandparents……trout fishing, then it progressed into all kinds of fishing.
  13. We get strippers in the St. John’s River too. You look for the birds working the water, where the strippers are chasing the bait fish to the surface. You get close a throw a rattle trap in there or troll thru.

    You got that right!
  15. I’ve had a few cottonmouths come out to chase my boat away, but for most part they just lay there sunning themselves. If they do get close to the boat, I just redirect them with the rod tip, just change their direction of travel a couple times and they move on.
  16. Hi from the Sunshine State of Fl This site is a wealth of information, I’ve learned a lot and still have a long ways to go too.

  18. I fish 95% of the time alone, with that being said, I’m probably overkill on trying to make the other person is having a good time. I’ve had a already fishing partner other than my Dad. We talked while fish, I’d say “I’m ready to move”…… he would say “whoa give me two more minutes here.” I agree with CATT communication is the key.

  20. Texas rig “hands down” for me. I don’t fish wacky much, only around docks and other structures wit limited or no weeds.
  21. Amen, now somebody pass the taters. Just kidding. I look back at the patients my grandparents had when they got me into fishing. I’m so thankful for them
  22. I can drive to BPS too…. I will make a list and have it shipped to store and I still can spend a day looking around. LOL!
  23. Tackle Warehouse has always been spot on with me. Fast shipping, always kept me informed where and what was going on with my order. So I’m really surprised to hear about the problems people are having. All so, I am I missing something? Nobody has mentioned Bass Pro, are they Taboo? TW and BPS are the two places I use the most.
  24. I take pics all the time when out on the water, for bragging rights? Oh yeah !! and ribbing rights too. My friends and I usually send them to each other while we are out ……” hey they are biting here”. We all send them to the one guy who couldn’t come fishing too. And say “ too bad you had to mow the yard or paint the kitchen” ….. it usually gets some pretty colorful responses. It’s all in good fun, they have done it to me too. It kinda sucks when your in Home Depot and you starts blowing up with fish catch pics.
