  1. What's youtr go-to jerkbait in the ozarks? Grew up fishong a bass club there, and seems like they generally want something different than a rolling Rouge up there.
  2. There is no sorry about this. You are correct in your cost analysis. Mike just takes the time to do it. I think it's worse to pay $4.99 for a Denny brauer flipping jigare in mexico.
  3. 6lb is low when you factor in today's diameters with everyone fishing Japanese lines. I fish my jerkbaits with 8lb sniper generally, but if I'm losing to you in the boat, I may risk it with 6lb.
  4. The answer is 6-8lb line. You can pm me later that you beat up your partner doing this and thank me. Use your spinning rod....
  5. I'm not sure what to think about carbon spinning reels. I have two daiwa ballistics I scored in December for $99 a pop. Really like them....but I've seen a few posts that have shown broken reels. At first I thought maybe the posts were fake, but then I thought you couldn't even fake a broken reel like that if it were alumin. I know Raul ******* about this...but I think he may be right.
  6. I recognize your last name. Did you hang around the bass pro forums/another site.org circa 200-2004? I think I may know you...
  7. Never tried any of the baitball stuff, but I think it's smart. I'm going to add that while I like my leverage spinnerbaits (just have 2) I'm not sure if their patented hook system is a keeper. Seems like I've lost a few fish because of it, but I blame myself for not reeling them in fast enough.
  8. 3/16 oz spinnerbait is my goto in this situation. I have an old leverage spinnerbait in naked shad that works really well
  9. Nice....
  10. Dude...yes...powerbaits. Back in the late 80s early 90s berkley sent you a vhs tape along with some samples directly from spirit lake. You can't deny the power bait and nearly every bass fisherman has had his butt kicked at one time or another on a blue fleck power worm. It just happens .. ...
  11. Moonsault cb100. Zoom sand flea. I have a rare 2004 chocolate wobbler, but I'd bet on the sand flea to catch more fish.
  12. Kudos to you for mentioning rebuilding a bass pro rod. They skate on the components Ike 13 does, but I've felt some pretty good graphite from them.
  13. Granted I enjoyed you guys gossiping about bell...but do you guys not have a taco Bueno in your area? I think it's d**n close to going for tex mex if you hit a good bueno...
  14. I can't do the hard stuff. I'm getting ready to turn 40 so that's not a kid statement. Brown liquor makes me feel 10 ft tall and want to challenge everyone. I'm mutch nicer/funnier with just a few miller lites under my belt.
  15. Fingernails are your friend with this deal. You may mar up one or two of your nails, but it's significantly faster and makes a man out of you. I'm half kidding...
  16. I agree smalljaw...there are other custom baits that match the wec quality. Don't have any ph's, but I have a couple of black jack's (nomad) that certainly are on par. I just have a few stories involving zooms. Something about theoseTapp's in cold water....
  17. Haven't fished any of those, but as bluebasser mentioned...they all work. My favorite LC's are the moonsault cb100 in ghost minnow and the fat bds2 in rootbeer. One day somebody is going to thank me for my online chatter.
  18. Been using a brush hog going on 10 yrs now. I trim off the swimming tails 90% of the time, but summertime in the trees a heavy jig with the tails going gets bit. Give it a try...
  19. What spurred this thread was the fact I had a hankering to order a crank, and figured I'd check out my favorite maker....ed chambers who is the founder of zoom of course. When I go google his name; it pulled up an article from 2010 that he was celebrating his 70th bday. I feel like ed is one of the last great crankbait makers and I have the urge to buy what I can when thinking of his age/legacy (I hope that didn't sound awful). Maybe I'll get off my butt and take a pic of the few I have, but was just curious if anyone else is paying attention.
  20. I think the loomis drop shot rods are arguably the least versatile technique specific rods in the lineup. I'd go with the 852 or 822syr for a more all-arounder.
  21. The answer is yes. A full spool makes a man feel good.
  22. Ethos are nice. They are only $60 though, and ship free.
  23. That's definitely fair. I'm at the age where I'm starting to gripe about things going up...and I'm only 38.
  24. Crap...the last time I used expiditer, they mailed you out a new stick immediately, and you had like 2 weeks or something to send in your old one. I guess that was maybe 10 years ago or so, but that's a substantial difference.
