  1. Zoom and h20. I turned my nose up to h20 for a while. I bought some $3 4-6ft crankbaits because I was tired of losing $8 baits. Well I stocked up on those things. Great value for sure. Only problem I have had are the hooks (VMC) but my other expensive baits have had the same issue and these are small crankbaits with small hooks so I can overlook that (till I lose a biggin lol)
  2. Have you seen the owner flashy swimmer I think it's called? I like it enough to dedicate a rod to it. Works great on keitech style baits. Been thinking of trying it on basstrix baits. TW did a product review of a similar style and I ordered a few to try.
  3. You're a big person, I would get something longer than 12'. I wish I would have spent more money on my first yak. I'm obsessed with fishing so I don't mind spending the $$$
  4. Bass cat has awesome customer service from what I hear. Try calling them and get a feel if they still have replacement parts for your boat. I'm not saying they'll warranty it, I'm just talking about them giving you actual parts that fit and were made for the boat. Most Mercury motors are good also. Have someone or yourself do a compression test on the motor.
  5. I had a chance to use them both today and if I had to use one it would be keitechs. I like strike king and still have a couple bags so if I change my opinion I will speak up later. Here is one off a keitech I caught today.
  6. Knot kewl at all.
  7. GTFO lol. Plenty of women out there that like to fish. My wife enjoys it but doesn't do it much more, but we have young kids so it's hard for her to go. She knows I'm bat **** crazy about fishing so she doesn't give me grief about going or spending the money to do it. Plenty of hotties out there that like to fish and don't complain to much.
  8. Drove an hour to boat storage to load up and fish. Finally got a friend to go with me. We got up at 5am. Went to unplug the trolling motor charger- forgot last time. Battery dead. I MF'd myself about a dozen times and apologized double that. We still fished. My buddy caught fish using his baitcaster for the first time while using lures so I was happy about that. He had a good time and I caught a 4.5lbs bass so it wasn't all that bad. After we were done, and I put the boat up- I checked to make sure it was charging about 5 times lol.
  9. Quality is more important than quantity. You're young so start off with setups that suit you're favorite fishing style. I mowed yards and did manual labor for family members to buy my gear when I was your age-
  10. Awesome awesome awesome LoL. Spotlock works great. Fishing timber for crappie in 20mph winds was achievable and it moves my boat with ease. I had the fortrex and went to an ultrex and I wouldn't get another boat without one. Cruise control is nice running the bank. Set your speed and use the pedal to maneuver around obstacles.
  11. I'm 5'10 and 195lbs. I love my Outback. I am interested in trying the wilderness drive system but haven't had a chance. I'm biased with Hobie. I have had 3 different models over the last 10 years. The 2016 and newer Outback is very nice. Everyone fishes different and has different needs so each kayak fits different people better. I got a bass boat but still keep my kayak for days I want to keep it simple.
  12. I stayed in the barracks left side of picture I think. My CC was a female as well. The more I look the more I think maybe she was my CC. Was she a YN? I went to boot camp summer of 99.
  13. TW sales have netted 1000yd spools of 12, 15, and as of yesterday 20lbs test invizx. I am getting into drop shotting and splurged for Tatsu 8lbs 200 yards only- stuff is crazy $$$$. Thinking about doing a unitouni knot and just putting on 20yds at a time on my suffix 832 braid?
  14. Hope to use my bag Wednesday. If I catch anything I will report back. Gonna try it on a scrounger jig head and maybe an underspin
  15. Get a graph if you don't have one already.
  16. Phoenix 618pro bought used. http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc290/GetBent_08/6FF127DE-D73C-48A2-A60D-CF738CE89654_zps1tfquafe.jpg
  17. What kind of yak do you have would help with suggestions also.
  18. I hear black lizards do well in Mexico.
  19. Bunnie by pic alone it looks similar to a hook I currently use, compared to others I use it should be fine. I wouldn't boat flip a 10lbs bass with them but who would? Most people Ned rig fishing use about 10-12lbs test at most. Side note- way to urinate all over someone's thread- take your arguments to PM please or just stop before y'all start trying to compares whose worm is bigger
  20. I will make an order for the Ned rig style jig heads for sure. I bought some jig heads on an auction site that are good, but like to order from places like SO when I can. Those hooks look nice. Add a touch of gel super glue and I bet you could wear some fish out quick. The zman trd isn't a bad crappie bait either lol. Caught some slabs looking for bass
  21. I fought the super glue idea for a while- d**n I'm stubborn. Much easier and less time messing with fixing the bait.
  22. That bass would mess himself if he saw a boat with red LED lights cruising around.
