I usually go unrigged because I quit the last time when I broke off

Tubes and jigworms are 90 something percent of what I fish. Most fish are stuck well in the roof of the mouth and hard to unhook when you are holding them. I’ve never purchased a true “Ned rig” because I despise the melty plastic my friends leave all over my boat. If they are so indestructible why does everyone have 500 packs of them and why are they all over my boat 😂 Methinks it is because everything on the internet says throw a ned rig, and they catch a lot of fish @scaleface, the one X factor in your scenario is how they eat the bait. Might have just been inhaling the tube better that day

I fish live shad a lot It certainly happens occasionally, so that makes it a fact. But it most certainly doesn’t happen every single time. Bass don’t follow human rules walleye and stripers do it somewhat regularly on a night time shad spawn. Old timers will tell you to set the hook when you hear the second splash

@ol'crickety, from a distance the best way (for me) to tell them apart is sound or the wings. Osprey will have pointier (more pointy?) wing tips and I’m sure you’ve heard the sound of each of them

Seems like I paid $25 to extract a canoe just a few feet upstream of Lake Michigan. The next time I went we talked to enough people and found a place to park for $5 these kind of things drive me batty

I wrap around the boat paddle if I’m stuck that bad. Usually something else bends or breaks well before the gears unless you are using ultra heavy lb test

I ran two graphs off a lawn mower battery back in the day. Forgot to turn one off once, stayed on in my carport for 6 days before I noticed 😂

That’s wild, maybe some line started coming off the spool and yanked one out? I lt never ceases to amaze me what stays in my boat while trailering, I’ve driven 6 hours to find a plastic worm unmoved
