  1. DSG has the Team Lew's Custom Pro Speed Stick LFS-X5 in varying sizes on sale. The 6'10 MH/F is $90, the 7'4 H/F is $108. I'm mostly a Daiwa, Shimano, MB rod guy, but I have the 6'8 M/F model, and it has a nice magbass type taper that punches above it's weight.
  2. Coolbaits does pretty well with the Keitech Easy Shiner, it's a really good looking profile on it. It chews through Swing Impacts. The Owner Flashy Swimmer does better with Swing Impacts (and the Fat version) because of the screw lock.
  3. Did you read it under load? Lithium batteries have battery management systems which control the voltage the battery puts out. They can go into "sleep mode" after fully charging. My generic no name batteries charge up to ~14.6v, then rest at ~13.6v. If you did, and you just got the battery, I'd return it for one of their models that has bluetooth, then there's no guessing what's going on with your battery.
  4. The spool is deep but will bomb lures heavy enough. I throw toads in heavy slop on it and they fly.
  5. I’ll post more if I see them.
  6. I love tumbler. I wish SN would make them in 6 packs again.
  7. Won’t be an issue, and won’t affect spot lock. You should have a keel offset in the software to set the angle that makes the TM prop parallel to your boat.
  8. Amazon has a no frills (no bluetooth, no temperature protection), no brand name Li 100AH battery for $88. Time to upgrade if your lead acid is on the fritz. Not much risk for $88. https://www.techbargains.com/deals/asturnu-lfp100-100ah-lithium-battery *disclaimer: That website gets a small click through commission with Amazon, I have no affiliation with them.
  9. I like the Lew's Custom Speedstick Topwater Special, 6'8 M/F, but has a magbass-like taper and a shorter grip. It can throw 1/8-1/2oz, so it can chuck small Pop'R's or Rico's with the right reel.
  10. The 150MGL is fantastic for almost all presentations IMO.
  11. It’s his tequila!
  12. The 9 is probably the best bang for the buck, it has a resolution of 1024x600. The Helix10 is the same resolution, so you're not really gaining much for $500 other than a little larger screen, but same resolution which means larger dot pitch. The Helix12 has a 1280x800 resolution, but it's about $1,000 more. Maybe the larger screen size and resolution is worth it to you for that money, if you're spending a lot of time looking at graphs for offshore fish, or have older eyesight (like me), or that's a drop in the bucket for your budget.
  13. Why not just sell everything but the X18 and buy a prop outboard for it? And if you want to fish Little Seneca Lake, let me know.
  14. Your wife kicked it after you went fishing too long and didn't tell you.
  15. Are both maps the same version? Same BIOS hardware version on the units? Just gotta start ruling stuff out. Also, contact Garmin, their customer support is excellent.
  16. But you're searching for the brush pile with the m360 that is on a HB unit correct? And once you find the brushpile and look at the HB map it's in a different spot vs the Garmin waypoint?
  17. Ditch the belly weight, if you use a XXX shank, it should have enough weight to keep it belly down. I use the Owner Beast 4/0, but I've been messing around with the Mustad Infiltrator 5/0 with good results.
  18. My Helix has the option to adjust the water level. No, but you can shade certain depths, like anything under 2 feet, shade it red. I make and follow custom iTracks, where I know it's deep enough for the TM, and no objects. It will follow the iTrack, and nothing else unless you tell it to otherwise. Following the contours is pretty much the same thing, except the contours are already pre-programmed. I find iTracks work better for custom paths in shallows (dodge stumps, logs, etc), and Follow Contours works better on offshore drop offs. That's how I use them.
  19. I use go to waypoint, follow iTrack, and follow contour on my Ultrex/Helix combo frequently. I mapped my home lake a couple years ago in the late fall on a warm day. I didn't map the entire lake, just certain areas and it didn't take long, maybe 2 hours at most.
  20. https://floridalithium.com/products/12v-105ah-dual-purpose-lifep04-battery I have had this since March and it's been flawless with my Mercury 200. The lowest I've ever run it down was 88% with 2x Helix10's and sometimes radio/speakers for long fishing trips. I had a lot of questions, and they're responsive. It's also on the more economic side of the dual starting lithiums.
  21. Sierra is good but, it’s too bad Anchor Steam is gone.
  22. I bought an Abu Garcia Blackmax from Walmart in a pinch once while I was on vacation and the location had a lake loaded with smallies. The whole combo was like $60, and I caught a bunch of fish while staying away from the in-laws that week. I don't know if it's the best, but it worked well enough and was bombing some 1/4oz + paddletails in super clear water.
