Shimano Warranty
I just pay for the expedited service and things get done in a few days. I’ve also had great service on Fenwick HMGs.

Spotlock GPS puck placement - where is yours?
I have my blue tooth sensor mounted on the front deck by the trolling motor. My gps heading sensor is in the stern next to the transducer.

Stockton Lake - Going for the Bass Grand Slam
I fish it a lot. I wouldn’t say that there is an area where they all congratulate. I have only had a couple of meanmouth. I also don’t catch very many spots. Smallmouth can be anywhere in the lake, however, I find more north of the confluence of the Little Sac and Big Sac rivers. I f the water stays up the largemouth will probably be in the brush. The smallmouth will probably be spawned out and on the flats. I saw water surface temps from 55° to 57° in the Little Sac Sunday with nearly muddy water. I will be fishing it hard during that time period. I will launch at Hartley Branch, Crabtree Cove or Stockton Park depending on the time of day that I choose to fish. My baits of choice during that time period usually are spinnerbait and buzzbait early, tubes, shaky, Ned, jigs, and brush hogs T rigged later or at night. What size boat and motor will you be using? Will you be day or night fishing?

Suggestions on a reel for chatterbait setup
Same here. 7:1 is the slowest thing I ever use.

What color would you use of the spinner bait in murky water?
Three colors that I would use are bleeding shad, white and chartreuse in that order.

War eagle finness spinnerbaits
It keeps the R from spreading apart which is where they break for me.

War eagle finness spinnerbaits
If you want them to last longer, take some old braid and wrap it around the R bend and tie it off. It won’t have any effect on the way the bait works and will greatly increase the life time of the bait. I do that to all of my R wire spinnerbaits. They will normally outlast a couple of skirt changes. I also put shrink tubing over the braid to make it hold better.

Baitcaster that minimizes backlashing?
Pretty much but you may be able to throw it farther than you can cast it. If it is within your means, buy the Curado DC. I have several sizes of Curados and the 150 DCs are my favorites.

Curado DC and Curado K
I’ve never had a K but I have several Es and a couple of DCs. I tried cranking a Rock Krawler with the DCs. It was great. I may have to get more of them.

They used to be made at Ark Rod in Harrison AR. I heard that they are now China made.

Cranking reel
Facebook Shimano buy sell trade sometimes has good stuff. I bought some Curado G5s a while back.

LOZ suggestions
You may also want to consider Pomme de Terre Lake. There are several resorts with boat docks, on Stockton there aren’t resorts with docks. Stockton has 3 marinas with slips. The resorts on Stockton are not on the lake like Pomm and LOZ.

Reworking bad powder coats
Smalljaw knows what he is talking about so take his advice on curing and Cadman told you how to clean them. These two guys are the pros around here. Back when I would get those runs and drips I just used side cutters or gate shears and cut them off. Then I would mat them shiny with clear fingernail polish. I have not had a run in many years. I heat the heads with a heat gun one at a time. I do the old 1 1000, 2 1000 count to get the heads heated the way that I want them. I want them hot enough for the paint to stick but cool enough to have a dull finish. I tap the hook on the side of the fluid bed cup to remove any excess powder. Then I cure them. My oven is a $2 garage sale toaster oven. Trial and error has shown me that 15 minutes at 350° is what works best.

Frustration With Silicone Skirt Tabs
Sounds like static electricity but I have no idea how that would happen. I use thread to hold my skirt material in place until I get it the way I want it then I wire tie it.

This is an article about the effects of moon phases on fishing ~ or not...
One thing that I have noticed about the moon is the effect it seems to have on the weather around here. Quite often we have storms near the full moon which definitely has an effect on my fishing.

A cover won’t keep mice out.

Anyone used Nikwax on their Goretex fishing rain wear?
If they leaked then you probably have a faulty seam. They may have a lifetime warranty. You might contact Cabelas before you get into spraying them.
