  1. The lake I mostly fish a double willow out produces other blade combinations. I choose colors by light and water clarity.
  2. I use fluorocarbon on 8 spinning setups. I use Seaguar in 6, 8, and 10 pound test on reel sizes 1000, 2000, and 2500. 10 is the biggest that I have been able to use. I don’t spray or treat it with anything.
  3. Elaztech has impressed me more than anything else in years. That is why I have around 100 pks ot the stuff.
  4. Everything that you will do is a personal preference. You will need to decide if you want si or di up front and select the proper trolling motor and gps unit. If you don’t know about the differences you will need to do some research before you buy.
  5. Which gps/sonar are you planning to buy?
  6. I like floral copper wire. I think that it is 24 or 26ga. I get mine at Lowes.
  7. My plumber says that it is the same stuff that he uses on pvc pipe.
  8. Ardent reel butter and Shimano oil is what I use on all of my reels.
  9. Ditch Panda check your PM.
  10. Green pumpkin with black flake pre spawn Green pumpkin with purple flake post spawn
  11. I totally agree with you. They cost less for me to make than a skirted jig.
  12. I’d use shrink tubing on it and be done.
  13. I’m sure that they would have when new. However I never go two days without a recharge. That is only going to shorten the battery life.
  14. As far as I know Humminbird has not officially announced their version of live, though Russell Marine Products is taking pre orders. My electronics guys have my name on a list and are supposed to call me when they have some. I am running a MK Ulterra with Ipilot link, 3 Solix G2 units, and 360, just waiting on live.
  15. You can change gears and I have several times but never to slow the ratio down. I only use 7 and 8 speed reels.
  16. Shorty’s Hook Sales is where I buy my hooks. They might have the trebles that you want. You can’t beat their prices.
  17. I’m like roadwarrior on the drag. I only back mine off when cleaning the reels. I carry too many setups to go messing with the drags.
  18. I think you made the right choice. I’d like to have do overs but too many bones already invested.
  19. I fish mono on 4 setups using swimming techniques. Except for Arigs everything else is bottom contact and I use fluorocarbon. I use fluorocarbon because I fish a lot of clear water with no vegetation and get more bites than on mono. I want things simple with as few links in the chain as possible so no braid and leaders for me.
  20. Many of the drop shot sinkers are designed to come off instead of breaking the bait off. Before drop shot became a term we rigged a jig under the worm as a weight. Sometimes you could get twofers.
  21. John L Morris has bought many competitors and discontinued a lot of them. Bass Cat, Skeeter and Phoenix are about all of the major glass companies that White River Marine Group does not have.
  22. I don’t think you will get the paint job to last unless you powder paint them. At least that is the only way that has worked for me.
  23. They don’t all carry the same things. 100 miles north of here there is a major Nitro dealer. He also sells Ranger and Triton but I’ve never seen a tin boat there.
