10-12K Older Boat, What was built well
Good advice. I lived in Florida for 8 years and I can tell you I put more hours on my boat in a year than I do up north in 3 years.

It's not recommended to run them out of water but it's also believed that a standard 500w or less transducer should be ok. Higher power transducers 1K or larger may be harmed because they need the water to keep them cool. I would set it on a screen that keeps scanning.

Advice on a 2012 Skeeter FX200
I'm a little bias but Skeeter's are great boats. They ride great and have no wood to rot. Yamaha outboards are very reliable with great performance. I would take the boat to a marine mechanic and have the outboard checked. Good luck with your decision and enjoy your new ride...

A First for My Wife and Me
That's great to hear. That people really appreciate it. My wife and I have done this numerous times while were out to dinner. It's usually a elderly couple, a young couple with kids or a military family. The only request we make of the waitress is to not disclose to them our identity. A quick story of how it started. WE were out for dinner when a group of elderly folks were in the next booth discussing how the nursing home just raised there electric $10 per month. They wanted dessert but decided they shouldn't because of the electric raise. The wife and I both said at the same time we need to help. So we had the waitress give us there bill and to also serve them dessert. We left so we never got to see the look on there faces but I can only hope it made them feel as good as it makes us feel when we do it.

Old fluorocarbon line question
Use the same test whether new or old line. Take a 6 foot piece of the line and tie it to the weight it's rated for then use a rod to lift it. If it holds it's good if not toss it. But as mentioned above Floro does last.

- 60hp or 75hp, that is the question.
Noshoes. Does a 200 lb. redneck weigh more than a 200 lb. non redneck? I'm a redneck and was just wandering. LOL - 60hp or 75hp, that is the question.
