Oh, I forgot to mention that I have a Kistler LTX 7'6 Telescoping Heavy action that I would like to trade for a 7' MH or 7' H LTX....... : Try putting this in the Flea Market were it belongs.......

  4. A Dicks In-house sale reel from Quantum®. If searches on the net don't provide a manual then contact Quantum® directly and give them the model number of the reel, maybe they will have one. The reel isn't part of their regular line-up.. Good Luck & Tight Lines!!!
  5. I should clarify here that I won't use them on MY personal rods. I have set-up one so that prospective clients can feel what the seat actually does and doesn't do. Haven't had to build with one yet.... Tight Lines All!!!
  6. Not without Rooting Hormone : Watch out for the Celery Sticks that come up when you do that.......
  7. Negative just turn it around........ Fast tip action is just that quicker, moderate tips react slower.. Tight Lines!!!!
  8. Yes I posted that I wouldn't have built a reactionary bait rod (jerkbait) with an SC5 blank, because it was to light and brittle of a blank and IMPO it really didn't need to be that sensitive of a blank. It could have been built on an SC2 blank and still been a well balanced jerkbait rod for a lot less $$... This comes from building a 7' HF and a 6'6" MHF both in SC5 and both breaking at a point on the blank that was nicked buy (on the HF a JIG) and high sticked, and (on the 6'6" MHF by a spinnerbait) on hook set. The SC3 Avid blanks are all the tourney anglers that I build for want, and they are holding up better than the higher strain blanks..... I have also built on the SC2 Premier blanks and had some anglers tell me that they were a more sensitive rod than even their production SC3's. Tight Lines All!!!
  9. Don't like them and won't use them on builds.. The way ACS seats are molded force the hand to hold the reel/seat un-naturally. Tight Lines!!!!
  10. I service all of mine and the boss' reels once a season, whether or not they have been used. As far as lubing the drag systems, only the reels that require drag lubrication get it. Tight Lines All!!!
  11. I have 5 UL setups that I have put together this year all using the Bass Pro Shops® Micro Lite Elite Spinning Reels on four 7' St.Croix 3SULF's and one on a 7'6" 3SMLXF. Using live bait on 4# test. We have been consistently catching 17" and 18" spots out of one of my favorite watering holes. More fun than I had the whole 11 years on the tourney trail for sure... 8-) RW you are kidding with this aren't you....

  19. Double foot guides tend to make the rod stiffer/heavier IMO, especially rods that carry double foot guide's out past the choke guide or about 4-5 guides up from the tip. All of the rods I have built over the years have used the double foot strip guide (first from reel), and whether or not they are spiraled or conventional wrapped all have single foot guides to the tiptop.... Nope...Probably make them crisper... Personally I don't worry about the guides being the sensitive part of the rod, IMO sensitivity is built into the rod blank (materials and taper) and in the reel seat/grip sections of the rod..Tight Lines!!!
  20. I have 2 that are my favorites that I built (used strickly for soft top water baits and a sometime spinnerbait). I still build them, but the high end blanks aren't made in 5'6" anymore. You can still get production builds in the lower end St.Croix rods, (I.E. St Croix Premier's, and Triumph Travel Series).. Tight Lines!!!
  21. Garcia® 6000 C3's and C4's great striper, cat, and spoonbill (and other monsters) reels. For crank'n look at the 5000 series C3' and 4's.. Great work horse reels though no matter what size... Tight Lines!!!
  22. Hey f123 were ya at.. Noticed you changed the user name, removed all your post, and even took the link to 100 dead bass photos down... Got any pics like this were you are actually holding a live bass with your combo you intend to release.... Still waiting to see this $900+ combo of yours.....
  23. Looked at your photo gallery.. Question....... :-? Counted something around 100+ fish, all displayed the same way. Did you kill/eat them all?, and, why do you lay them on the ground for photos. Would like to see a photo of you and that 900+ dollar combo...... 8-)
