  1. I usually go the other way, when bank fishing I take out a set of 7'4" for longer distance. I usually go for 6'10" to 7'2" on the deck, just easier to manage and and like many here state better accuracy
  2. let's see... Zoom MAG 2 T-Mac or Trick worms. 6" Roboworms Yamamoto Senko 5" Zoom UV Speed worms, Almost forgot. Since last season I only carry them in Junebug or Green Pumpkin, Roboworms I do have a couple extra funny colors for dropshots.. I been working on reducing all the extras out of the boat and in the kayak I'm going with the minimum.
  3. I'm happy for you, that thing destroys families.
  4. I'm not sure, Pike seem to love to keep those $25 jerkbaits.
  5. I have, After fishing with my dad since I was a kid, I didn't touch a rod for about 8 years, I came back about 4 years ago. Funny thing is that I was able to afford a nice house in a great neighborhood during that time...
  6. If you have the means and fishing gear that no longer use or want, please consider donating it to a youth organization, high school fishing clubs or support groups for kids with disabilities. https://autismanglers.org/
  7. Do you really measure your drag?? I have always done this by feel and constantly change it depending on the situation.
  8. May be out of topic, but what is the main advantage of the Conquest over the Aldebaran? I just can't get my head around that reel body!
  9. I grew up fishing southern TX and Northern Mexico, now I fish mainly SE Michigan. I guess I have some range now. Smallmouth bass is just a myth down there and now I can efficiently and methodically catch them.
  10. My first Vision 110 was stolen by a Pike on the second cast about 5ft from the boat, I saw the little piece of.. fish.. take it from my line with absolutely 0 resistance, he cut the line clean and if I didn't actually see it I would believe I threw it with a faulty knot. I swore vengeance to ease the pain. Many of them have been lost after that and still refuse to use steel leader.
  11. Welcome! I'm sure you and your kid will do great this year.
  12. My dad I guess, he is the one who taught me the basics. Just not his knots.. they sucked!
  13. Japan its awesome, forget fishing for that time and enjoy its culture, gastronomy and architecture.
  14. That's step #1!! good luck
  15. I would see that show.
  16. I really enjoy bank fishing, I have a rod on the trunk of my car and when I'm out of work early (or when i want to be home late 😉) I stop by a small lake on the way home. Its really relaxing to walk around with only one combo and couple of lures.
  17. I put larger Shimano handles and knobs in all my reels (yes, even the Daiwas) you can buy the larger ones here https://fishshop.shimano.com/ Click on the menu and then parts. If you wan the really long ones and not to expensive get the Curado DC XG handle, its green but is long, has big knobs and will be cheap. They have made a huge difference as any other handle feels like a Zepco 33 handle.
  18. Opps wrong thread!
  19. Man I want that office chair in my boat...
  20. Use paypal, you can see the discount on paypal's screen and cancel if required.
  21. I'm must say that I'm disappointed on last year's performance of every piece of tackle I own. They are all aware that I expect much better this year.
  22. Don't worry about a 140K boat, I'm sure that rich people who can afford it will get a nice tax brake on it or will be able to fully deduct it.... they will be OK.
  23. My plan is to use all of you to get as much information as possible, then disappear.
