  1. When it’s slow and I get bored I go to a Mepps on a ML or L, whichever I have with me that day. Never tried one on a baitcaster.
  2. Oh man, no way I could tell you. When I want one I grab the size, color and blade config I want out of the box, I don’t look at the brand, of which I have more then several.
  3. I vaguely recall seeing the first movie when it came out, someday I’ll be like your bride and watch the rest.
  4. Similar you you, in spring the ponds are clear enough but then they are only 10’ deep max, not going to see much with the low end Garmin I own but gave up on, think it shows a 3’ circle under the boat. Maybe side scan or similar would show something but I manage to catch enough as is, it’s not worth the $ to me. I find even the little Garmin to be a hassle for no gain, I’d rather have some leg room. Summer and fall the weeds take over where I fish, other then not seeing anything but weeds the darn transducer hanging over the side is a weed magnet. Maybe if I fished lakes in a power boat I’d think about it, but I don’t.
  5. Add a standup assist bar and a set of outriggers.
  6. Mine was in 70, if we don’t count the paper routes, I got $1.50 hr as a dishwasher soda jerk at Friendly’s. For some reason I got an even cut of the tips the waitress’s got. Poor girls got something like $.75 an hour.
  7. When my Roku starts buffering and such a power clear of the tv clears it up, as in pulling the plug so it’ll reload.
  8. I like Jim’s idea using wooden standoffs then something like these https://mgs4u.com/product/tube-and-rod-snap-spring-clips/?attribute_pa_clip-size=5-16-inch&gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIyOqDotLbgwMVUkhHAR1M9QXMEAQYByABEgIszvD_BwE on the rod end of the standoffs, measure the rod for the right sizes. The standoffs would need to be big enough for the rod holders. If you hunt around you can find them in chrome, which I’ve used in the past. Kind of like the clips used for broom handles and such, but smaller. you could mount the standoffs right to the as mentioned or put them on a rod length plaque board with routed edges, what ever gives you the look you want.
  9. fWIW… I’ve been on Allopurinol for a number of years, no idea how many. After a few on 100mg the doc doubled it. So it’s been at least 5 or 6 years at 200mg, never had tinnitus or any reoccurrence of the gout. I did however just talk to the doc last week during the yearly about cutting or stopping the Allopurinol, his idea. He seems to think the only side effect of stopping is the gout might return, which I’m going to try in the next couple weeks. That being the case it would make sense that you could try stopping and see what happens if indeed the only down side is the gout returns. I would however suggest you discuss it with your Dr if you haven’t.
  10. Just an fyi, Maint mode is a low voltage charge, something like 13.5v, it’s purpose is to keep the batteries charged during long term storage. Some chargers have an Equalize stage that one runs occasionally to equalize the charge of the cells and do some desulftion, if that’s a word. In my RV, the Equalization mode was kicked off manually, voltage came up to somewhere around 16.5 and would stay there for a number of hours. I would do this once or twice a year.
  11. The load test is a good idea, most auto parts stores have testers, worth asking.
  12. If it matters to you, the Premier is US made vs MX for the Mojo.
  13. I always get stuck replenishing once or twice during the season, depends what’s working. Just got an order from TW that will get me thru the spring and into summer. Bunch of hooks and 4 or 5 bags of Rage craws and bugs, and 1 spool of leader. I’m going to try to not try baits I’ve not used successfully before and use up some of what I already have. I’ve been using more than normal as I end up supplying the grand kids with whatever is working when they are along.
  14. You want a liFePO4. You can go with top of the line like Ionic, Dakota, or Battle Born, but you’ll need to save more $. Or you could go cheaper Chinese made like Litime, Chins, or any of the many others for a lot less. I went with Enjoybot, it speced out to what I wanted at the time, no idea if they make a 50 ish. i don’t use the boat and motor enough to worry about longevity, it’s just to go out with the grandkids.
  15. I use a trolling motor on a Bass Raider 10’ pontoon boat and have a 100a lithium. If I were doing it again I’d get a 50ish amp. I do roughly 5 hrs and rarely use more then 20 ahrs. If you want to travel miles and stay out all day, then go with bigger. I wouldn’t be comfortable going with a small battery without having a way of monitoring it, but that’s just me cause I fish alone and don’t want to paddle a pontoon boat back. As you have a canoe it’s not a big deal.
  16. With fishing from the canoe in mind I lost 30 lbs this past spring, it was getting harder to stand up after 6 hrs in the canoe. Shoulder stretches and a couple exercises the PT gave me to do. I’m thinking of joining the Y to get some swimming in, could come in handy when fishing…. Without fishing in mind, we hike a couple times a week and take the dog for a walk a couple times a day. Does 2 days a week chasing a 2 year old count?
  17. Not exactly the same, but you couldn’t buy the brand of RV I had for the last few years, even used. The few that came up were well over purchase price and the manufacturer was over 12 months back logged. I noticed the other day there are now many used for sale although the prices are still as high as before. Same as homes, and I guess boats.
  18. Made it to half time as usual, that’s it for me. We did do prime NY strip and shrimp tonight, that’s enough celebration for us. Go Packers.
  19. 16.50 over 60, of course they tack another 6.45 just cause it’s Massachusetts and they love to tack on little extras, you should see the electric bill.
  20. What I don’t have, is many ponds, much less lakes, that aren’t full of pleasure craft and ringed by homes. As I avoid those once it warms up a bit I’m kind of limited.
  21. I think folks started using seat belts when they put that annoying alarm on them. They could probably do something like that on a boat but a canoe or kayak might pose a problem.
  22. Just did mine the other day, another Magic Eraser user. I do spray down the handle with Simple Green first, just cause it’s hanging next to the sink, no idea if it helps any but they do come out clean. You could consider using U-40 to seal the cork, I don’t but many here do. I noticed I even get some color on the eraser from the rod shaft itself, I’m thinking it may be from the braid. Go easy with the Magic Eraser if you go that route, they shred pretty quick if you don’t.
  23. This is like when my grandsons asked me how many fish I normally catch, I don’t count those either. WAG for fish is 20 WAG for times fishing is 50 I don’t ice fish so I’m done till April.
