2026 BASS Elite Schedule Released
Totally agree. A West Series would get a big following and could result is a West -v- East series as well. A kayak series out west would be huge as kayak bass fishing has become very, very popular and successful as evidenced from guys like Greg Blanchard Personally, I think the schedule suks!

KastKing for first casting rod?
The Diawa is hard to beat but I’d prefer the Berkley, but really a toss up. That being said an Ugly Stik is hard to beat !

Man overboard!
And wearing a PFD is mandatory in my canoe, making the climb back in bulky but relives the panic.

Motorized or not
Interesting. Here in Indiana a “non-motorized “ kayak/canoe lake is just that, no propulsion other than paddle/pedal. Our bodies of water are well defined as open (any propulsion), electric only or non-motorized. I fished a couple tournaments on one and had to paddle all day, doable but tiring.

FluxJet - 2025 iCAST Best In Show
I think it would be a safe bet that eventually and inevitably the bow would swing with the current (wind or otherwise) rotating on a fixed axis. Not a bad thing on calm waters but quite frustrating on a river system.

Good looking rig @ElGuapo928

What are these holes?
Most assuredly, one end or the other but I am sure @Jig Man nailed it.

What are these holes?
Rod tip storage for co-angler. Can’t say for positive without seeing the other end where the butt ends would lay but pretty sure.

Selling my tackle
Agreed, sell on any social media and set up meetings at local Police or Fire stations. That weeds out the unscrupulous quickly.

Icast 2025 lure
Don’t find the action very enticing at all on that offering. In the video it looks like a piece of wood debris or a stiff porcupine. Years ago (like 40+) we were running (spinnerblade) skirt strands through Berkley stickbaits and they produced well, a different look from a normal worm with an amazing amount of action. This is like bell bottom jeans, an old design idea presented as something new to the next generation. I guess it is new to the fact that they are actually being manufactured but an old concept.

Is there a lure or technique you would like to master, but just can't seem to figure it out?
Swim jigs……and with that I’m in on @DogBone_384 challenge. It can only end in misery,,,,,,,,,,,or not 😉

One Lure Challenge
- One Lure Challenge
Maybe I’m reading the challenge wrong. Is it about becoming effective with one style of lure or seeing how long you can make one lure holdout? Is it one lure-lose it and go home, restart the 12 trips with a new lure? Or “one” lure, using as many as needed? To me fishing a wacky worm would allow me to take a bag of my choice of worm, just one specific brand, style and color. If fishing a jig could I not take several of the exact same jig, color, style and brand to fish in case of loss? If truly only ONE lure for twelve trips, it ain't gonna happen, I can barely make one trip without losing something. If allowed to have duplicates of the exact same lure for twelve trips, thats a doable challenge (and a learning opportunity). A ruling clarification from the council would put me “in” or “out”.- Spinning Rod For Topwater
Oh, so right out the box you wanna start a fight! 😆 And I suggest a Kistler KLX as well, very light, nice action and at your $200 range- BSF is a game changer
I like my BFS setups for small river fishing but disappointed when trying to use lake fishing. The issue is line capacity, just not enough to fish twenty five- thirty foot deep lakes with the Curado SLX reels. One cast of a 1/4oz spinner and it’s almost spooled! I assume a smaller line like a ygk x8 #1 would be a improvement, but not really familiar with the Japanese line design designations and conversions. @bulldog1935 do you have line recommendations? I did switched to a 100 sized reel on my BFS Phenix rod and found it very compatible with smaller lures. However, I did buy a new Vanford 2000 and 3000 reels for improved spinning outfits.- If you could have one reel.
Hummmm, if casting properly the Curado CU200 Mean Green. At 6.3:1 it’s the most versatile reel I own. If spinning, Vanford 3000XGFA. The smoothest spinning reel I’ve ever owned be a hard choice between the two……….- Thinking of switching from 14 lb mono to braid or fluro for my topwater/bladed jig setup, what do you recommend?
To kinda follow through, this reply come from the manufacturer of McCoy Mean Green Copolymer line. “So if I understand correctly, your question is if our Mean Green Co-Poly will pull your top water lures down? If that is the case, no it wont pull your lure down and it wont help the lure float either. Easy way to figure this out is to put a length of line in your sink. We put 20 lb. Mean Green in our sink and after 20 minutes 75% was still on top of the water. Then we pushed it under the water and also just swirled the water around and 75% was under water but suspended. That being said, if you are running a top water lure it would not have an effect on how your lure ran across the water.” Thank You, Steve Lindell Sales Director Tackle Tamer Products / McCoy Fishing Line / Laurvick Release As I said, I have had no issues with topwater at all.- Thinking of switching from 14 lb mono to braid or fluro for my topwater/bladed jig setup, what do you recommend?
I use McCoy’s Mean Green copolymer line and have not had an issue. It’s a super strong line and great if you prefer a single line spool. Maybe Toxic will chime in as I believe he tested the McCoy’s line around 2003.- (Kayak) Trailer Tire Pressure......??
Don’t even start looking at camper threads on tire pressures! 😵💫- (Kayak) Trailer Tire Pressure......??
I changed out my 8” to 12” on my canoe trailer. I use the 10% rule. Under inflate by 10% cold of max psi. This keeps the tire at near max when on the road and still provides both cushion and stability. Never had any issues. Works for me - One Lure Challenge
