Regluing boat carpet?
Liquid nails is made as a construction adhesive, bonding wood subfloors to wood stringers. It absorbs into the wood to form a solid bond when added mechanical devices (screws, nails) are used. It does dry out to a brittle cake when there is not two absorption materials and a mechanical device to aid its connection capability. Would never recommend for aluminum or metal. It would create a gigantic mess when try to re-carpet. Contact adhesive is the way to go like the product @Jig Man posted or Wellwood contact adhesive is a brand @Crow Horse and @FloridaFishinFool noted.

Nice! We used to plant way to much to keep so I scaled down to cucumbers, a couple beefsteak and cherry tomatoes, my Wife’s favorites and easy table fair.

Pet peeve about fishing from a kayak/canoe
Ok this thread, like many has jumped the shark! To the OP I too have “wind” issues with my canoe. However I do have a trolling motor that I use to get to an area but still struggle with losing spots if not set up quick enough at the right angle. My biggest problem is I don’t use my anchor! I carry one but never deploy it because I am programmed to fish “bass boat” style; slowly moving parallel to the bank, docks or structures I want to fish. Watching @A-Jay’s videos has made me determined to drop the anchor and slooooowwww down! Outside of spotlock on a trolling motor it’s the easiest and best method for drift control. Anchor down, stay away from an area and cast to it or set up on the open water humps and structure. If the wind is low, wind blown casting or trolling is easily accomplished with just a paddle. My brother-in-law (fishing partner) always says “it’s all about boat control”.

Kayakers: What rods do you carry?
Nice selection ! I have all of these same rods that I carry in my canoe. I carry five with the addition of a Kistler 6’9” MH#4 for my frog rod. I have four rod slots and one in my hand so five is comfortable but I’m trying to get to four full time.

- What's your dream kayak setup?
This is pretty cool!- What's your dream kayak setup?
Yeah the AP is a great machine if you don’t mind the challenges that come with it. Although if not for the spot lock ability it would be just another heavy, slow kayak. I truly feel a 24 volt 80# spot lock motor would have made it the king of kayaks. I think the most conservative costing setup is a big power trolling motor and pedal drive for positioning. As shown in several test the speed limiting factor is the hull, not the motor. Catch 22 is a faster hull = less stability.- Why an expensive rod?
True,,,,,to an extent. A beginner fisher-person can tell the difference between simple composition with a graphite rod and a stick. Quality makes a difference.- Why an expensive rod?
I think one thing left out here is “high end” is relative. On person spending $50 on a rod may feel high end and someone spending $600 may feel it’s a value. I buy “higher end”rods because of the sensitivity and construction of the premium components. My high end is in the $200-$300 range. Someone else’s may be $800. And it makes a difference. Can you feel a crankbait digging into the bottom and tell the difference between sand, gravel, pebbles, small rock and a piece of wood? You should. Can you feel a Texas rig pulled access the bottom and determine what the bottom make up consistent of? You should. If it’s important to you, life is too short to deny yourself the pleasures of the best products or life experiences regardless of cost. But just because it’s expensive doesn’t mean it’s the best.- What's your dream kayak setup?
You know Koz I sold my AP120 close to a year in to it due to the very similar concerns. I was deep into it cost wise but fortunately bought the Kayak itself at cost and was able to recoup nearly all my investment. I went to a Sportspal canoe due to the stability, strength, room, cost, comfort and most importantly the ability to still fish in kayak tournaments, which is allowed in Indiana. It is by far roomier, easily carries more weight can be powered by up to a 3hp motor and weighing only 68 pounds. The biggest draw back would be spotlock because it would be difficult, not impossible, to mount a large trolling motor on the bow. All that being said it doesn’t answer your question! As far as I know the most up and coming is the new Flux Jet, not proven yet but looks to have decent potential for speed and ability to mount a gps trolling system. Kaan Orer, an Old Town brand ambassador has been struggling with the same issue and concerns. (most of his conversation is around 26 minute mark in this video. He has several Videos covering this exact topic and some results of his research. Nick Navarre has some interesting findings on the new Garmin Force Current and MDLR has some good information on the ePDL120 as well. Some sort of combination may work. There are options but at what cost are you willing to pay is the question.- (Un)official Hoosiers Thread
For sure! The weather put a hurting on the lakes and river. I live 5 miles from public access on White River and have only been on it once all summer, way to fast and muddy! Monroe is still barren of ant significant weeds or pads. If it wasn’t for the high water they’re wouldn’t be any growth to fish! Gonna head south to Patoka this fall. Hoping for better fall fishing. - Show off your Stuff
