Can’t get a bit on a wacky rig
Excellent dissertation @Big Hands I too am a Texas-rig guy and struggle with the wacky rig. I most certainly have the gear but the technique has mostly eluded me. Edge 7’ ML/f spinning rod Shimano Vanford 3000 reel 15# Seaguar Smackdown hi-viz braid 8# Seaguar Gold Label floro 6-12’ leader I know how @TOXIC would answer but let me ask. Everyone describes the bait as a “Senko” which has become the generic term for a stickbait. Is it actually the Senko or just any stickbait used in this setup? I typically use a Berkley General and don’t believe I have actually used a Yamamoto Senko for a wacky rig. Does it actually make that big of a difference?

Samurai is excellent- trolling motor wire size, please help
I ran mine yesterday at full power (with LifePo4 battery) for 20/25 minutes and not one hint of heat. Don’t like to run at full power for much longer than half an hour due to overheating the head unit, but never a concern for the wiring,- trolling motor wire size, please help
No my connections are at the trolling motor end and at the battery. Here are the connections, just a 10’ extension to connect them which lays on the floor of my canoe. This way I can have the battery next to the trolling motor if needed or have the battery up front for better balance. Edit: Heres the extension in the canoe floor. Most of it lays under the standing foam mat.- trolling motor wire size, please help
I made a 10’ extension with Anderson connections with awg #6. Eight gauge is recommended by Newport for my 55# thrust trolling motor (60 amp breaker) and they actually sell a awg #8 in a kit for 5 and 10 foot extensions. I believe the motors are wired with awg #12. Have never had any issues.- Finesse squirted jigs
Siebert Outdoors a vendor here too!- (Un)official Hoosiers Thread
Ok ya’ll, a Hoosier thread revival! Anyone doing any good? I’ve been to Monroe may last three trips out and have done poorly. The water (as of yesterday) is still up 8 foot and was 85* (down from 15’ a week ago) and still a hard fish. Anyone been out with a fair amount of success?- Mini Carolina Rig?

Not to mention Kistler’s excellent return policy and on hand availability of models.- Military service
Unfortunately due to a training injury I received an Honorable Medical Discharge the same year I volunteered for the US Army, 1972. I still struggle with the feeling of “stolen valor” due to fact I never completed my service commitment. It makes it hard to raise my hand when Veterans are honored. Just as it has taken me three years to post in this thread. I loved the Service and am proud and appreciate of all those whom have served. Thank you for your service- Question about Tournament guys
My Nephew is a Pro and he catches fish anywhere and everywhere he fishes. Many a time not enough weight to win but he catches fish. His strength is he can read the conditions consistently and can figure out a technique that works. Asking for help is like pulling teeth but he always offers, “get on the water”. Much like golf where the answer “is in the dirt” with fishing the answer is on the water as @TOXIC stated.- Fishing critic
Yeah ,comes from the same people who eat steaks, fried chicken and fish tacos. If they don’t see how the sausage is made it’s fine. Their hypocrisy is cringe worthy and I remind them of it.- Photography
The only time I photograph a catch is on a board while in a tournament. I hate handling, and having the fish out of water any longer than necessary. @Swamp Girl , @GreenPig and @scaleface those are some nice poses!- Topwater reel size
It would depend on your hand size. Typically a 100 size would be more comfortable for longer periods of time. But then again my hands prefer a 200 size. If it’s not comfortable you won’t use it.- Would You Wear These?
