Today I caught my first 8" hudd fish... after over 100 hours fishing it over the years. I've caught fish on bigger baits but for some reason I could never get them on the traditional slow bottom crawl

Had my boss and his son over today . Primary goal was bream. The 2nd bream Alex hooked , as he had it almost to the dock , a bass clobbered the bream and he hooked the bass right in the corner of the

  • So I went fishing today, and caught a 9#. Scale bounced between 8-15 and 9-2, but let's call it a 9, shall we? NLMB trout eater.   Super slow rolling a 8" weedless on the bottom in about 15

You fishing in a power plant lake or something?

We're going back and forth between having the main lake ice free but the coves still iced up, and ice thick enough to ice fish on.  A week and a half ago I was ice fishing, and three days ago  I plowed through some ice on the edges of the lake to do some open water fishing.  The weather has been a rollercoaster, one day it's a high of 14 degrees and snow, the next it's in the fifty's and raining.

Had a pretty good redemption today, my little brother has a tournament on the 19th so we went to look for some fish on Lake Anna. Found them in 35FOW and put a dozen in the boat, biggest was the low 4 I'm holding, she wouldn't sit still on the scales but I wanted to get her back since they can have a tough time coming from that deep water. I apologize for the scratched out background, that was for a little fun to send to his friends who will also be fishing that tournament, then I realized it was the only picture I had of the fish!

I think this was my last outing before I head back to school, gonna be a long winter

First decent fish of the year.

What was weird was that it had line coming out its poop hole.I guess someone cut the line or broke it off , and the fish swallowed the line.

Temps in the twenties, wind chill in the teens, but they still have to eat.

Had the first 100+ fish day of the year yesterday before the big storm gets here. Largemouth, smallmouth, whites, wiper, walleye, crappie, and drum all found their way to the boat. Caught fish on swimbaits, bladed jigs, traps, cranks, traps, beavers, even a float-n-fly. I literally caught fish on my first and last cast of the day when I got called off the water. This was my first cast of the day.

One heck of a day! So, how long did it take you to call your shot? Just an incredible day that we all want to have any time of year. Continued good fishing.JB

They were so thick the last 2 hours that it was a bite every cast. It was so bad that if I'd hook one and lose it, all I did was stop reeling and another one would grab it. I had video where I was casting my RES and while it was sinking I was starting my camera but a fish would run off with it like I was fishing a jig instead.

Caught this in the creek about a minute from my house. It fought like a spot, looks like a largie, but has red eyes. This Tennesee River area is ridiculous. If there is water over a foot deep there is a bass worth catching in it.

Not sure why the picture is sideways but you'd rather look at the fish than me so it works out.

After being in a bit of a slump for the past month or so, I finally had a decent day and lucked up on bass feasting on schooling shad. Largest 3.5lbs, smallest 1.45lbs.

Ya'll need to have the co-angler take your photo with the fish.  These selfies are beyond terrible!

Fishing with a regular ol' jig is not my strong suit, so that's why every once in a while, like today,  I try to use one exclusively, mainly to keep my jig skills up, but also because I like how a jig bite feels. There is one particular black/blue jig with which I sometimes have some success, and I tend to pick that one out of my box if I can find it in the jumble of silicone tendrils.  I don't know what brand it is, the paint and eyes are long gone, the skirt is ragged and mostly missing, it has a bent wire trailer keep, but it works. With the help of a Rage craw and a hook sharpener, this 5 pound 10 oz fat bellied beast was tricked by that old jig this evening. I do believe that old lure has a few more lunkers still in its future.
