Speaking of micro chatterbaits, I caught a new PB LMB on one tonight. Only fish I got. Black color, skirtless, rigged with a 3" BPS split tail stiko, vertical fins.

6.8lbs by my scale. It's a Christmas miracle. A very happy holiday to you all!

How do you like that Academy rod? Reminds me of a Shimano Poison Adrena. Easier on the wallet, though.

Today I caught my first 8" hudd fish... after over 100 hours fishing it over the years. I've caught fish on bigger baits but for some reason I could never get them on the traditional slow bottom crawl

  • So I went fishing today, and caught a 9#. Scale bounced between 8-15 and 9-2, but let's call it a 9, shall we? NLMB trout eater.   Super slow rolling a 8" weedless on the bottom in about 15

Great fish.

You might want to get a new scale tho; that thing looks a lot closer to 10 lbs than it does 6.

I always measure fish, because scales can be tricky and batteries can cost you a new PB

Congrats @thediscochef and @Jgthomas on those hogs.

I fished hard Christmas Eve all day and got nothing. I was slightly bummed that my last trip of the year was a skunk. But alas! This morning my wife said she had to drive a horse trailer somewhere here and there from 12-4, and suggested I go fishing……

happy Boxing Day!!!!

to ensure minimum chance of skunking, I dug up worms in my yard and drove to the rock quarry right behind my house. I walked down to the water and realized I forgot the worms in the truck, oh well got a fish in the first ten minutes with a tiny fluke

B49862-EC-F768-4-AD2-8-B84-95-F736-D96-A
about that time, my buddy texted and said a group was going paddling. Can’t turn down paddling in late December over 60 degree weather. So I left the quarry and loaded up the canoe, we hit the river around 2:30. On our way upstream somebody saw some shad, I just so happened to have my cast net in the canoe so I netted some threadfin. They were tiny so I put two on a hook, got another largemouth. The last trip (s) of the year shall not be skunks by golly. (The worms were safely released into my buddy’s flower beds)

It's December 27th.

It's December 27th and I live in Indiana.

And I'm out here doing this.

On December 27th. In Indiana.

I'll be here awhile today. I hear you loud and clear, Mother Earth.

Plus one more on a lipless so far. But when I saw them eating on top and I picked up the Spook and caught a couple, I had to stop and share.

When the weather throws you a bone…… throw a bone top water?? Should we put that on a bumper sticker?

65* in the Indy burbs lol this is such an unusual "winter"

More 50s for another week it looks like

Caught 4 more just like the ones above then it all died. No size, but don't care when I'm fishing and catching with topwater a few days away from New Years.

Wasn't quite as adventurous as @ironbjorn and left the topwaters at home - lol - but hit a local pond that was catching the 15-20 mph gusts pretty good and caught half a dozen on blades fished like a lipless. Really enjoying this Indiana warm spell.

Like @Team9ninesaid we're in an unusual warm spell here. Big changes coming this weekend, though. Had my best day in a long time. Fish were stacked on the windward side and very agressive. Caught numerous 12-14 inchers including two good ones. Most came on a micro chatterbait but the two bigs bit a blade.

Have to join in with my fellow Great Lakes area guys. I could not let the open water go to waste in IL.

Finally got into a few better fish today using my new Rod. Caught several on the super fluke. When it was almost dark I was at one of my favorite spots on my home lake. It’s a deeper water area just past a point with some eel grass down deep. A technique that often pays off there at that time is to slowly swim a magnum zoom lizard in june bug color. I pegged a couple more that way  just as the sun went down .

Felt great being on the water. Temps in the 70s , then 60s.

Nighttime bassin' where I caught a PB on Christmas...just the lonely Spotted Bass tonight though. Only a few more nights before we really get cold here for a bit so I'm trying to make the most of it. Daytime is a little busy right now so it's nighttime fishing for me. January will be the longest break from fishing I've had since June; 14 days. Hopefully the fishes forget me while I'm away ?

I'm impressed with all you northeners catching bass . I've been busy these last two months and missed this late season opportunity . I'll be officially retired in a week so be ready to fish at any time .

We got 9/10 of an inch of rain yesterday which local water temp gauges put at 42-44 degrees. Brought up the ponds and put a good stain in the water. Also got the fish a little more active. Managed one shy of a dozen today from the bank. Hoping to get the boat back out in the next day or two. Have to see how flooded the local reservoirs are - probably high and muddy.

Holey jeans every day  I just wore a pair of bibs today because our high only went north of 40 by a couple degrees and the holes let in too much cold air

I figured it was a little chilly. Good call on the bibs.
