This thread has been derailed by a discussion on drum and feet.  Not sure how it came to this.  I think Road Warrior needs to step in and shut it down lol

 

Drum, snakeheads, panfish, and pickerel photos have all been in this thread recently.  Technically they belong in the "other catch pics thread" since this one is reserved for bass photos only.

I've only ever posted photos of bass. And a turtle. I did post a photo of a turtle once. And a Michigan logo. I did that too. And my face. I guess that doesn't really count as a bass either. 

 

But other than all those crimes, I'm completely innocent, your Honor!

Got out for about 3 hours this morning ,cut out early to avoid predicted t-storms that never materialized. Boated 8 bass on buzzbaits with the best one weighing 5-7.

My brother just got down to our mom's house in SC. He said the lake there is loaded with bait. Maybe that fish is stuffed with senkos? The others are lean, but that one's yikes skinny. A few more.

One for @ol'crickety. How's that for fattening up? It weighed 2.19#. At least .19 was the bluegill in it's gut. The whole tail was sticking out it's gullet, and the little glutton still choked my sweet craw.

 

I got tired of fighting the legs on my little cell tripod, so I snapped 'em off this morning. Now all I have to do is drop it into a seat pedestal, and it's ready to take pics. Much easier, and faster. 

A baker’s dozen today tossing a slightly larger and heavier swimbait today at a couple more stained ponds. Lots of Chara at these two locations, which came up in recent threads. You’ll notice it in both pictures. About the only thing that has survived treatment in these ponds other than the water primrose.

Man I wish I found this site when I was in my prime and had dang near a lions mane for hair. Man I miss my youth ? I may have to start a thread called the “hair club” in the everything else section ?

Dink of the day......really hot out today, was 95F and feels like 105F. Then, like fine Florida fashion, rain....

That is the PERFECT analogy.  Drum are the "feet" of the fish world.  And catfish are the unshaven, no showers, hasn't washed her hair in a year hippie girl of the fish world.  Bleh.

Caught three tonight. I've used almost nothing but topwater for the past month. Blowups are addicting. 

They were eating the Texas rig for a couple hours tonight...had this one close to 4, the little guy, and a sandwich size drum. Lost two that were probably solid fish, one of which I got a look at. Probably close to 5. No PBs or giants or anything but a couple of nice fish. I'd been on a nice streak of landing all my bites but there's always that day...today. regardless...they still like what I've been throwin em. 106 in the shade at my place today...car said 91 as I left the ramp at midnight

The streak goes on and on......thurs 6/29 fish. 

 

@IcatchDinks: Beautiful photos and fish. You look so happy in that last photo. 

 

@thediscochef, I know how those streaks go and they go both ways. I've been landing my big fish this year too, but in three consecutive casts last year, I lost three four-pound bass. All three jumped. I worked all three to the canoe. And all three came unpinned right there. I think that's a lifetime three and done for me, that I'll never hook such three fine fish on consecutive casts again. Anyway, I'm just happy you've caught such big fish this year. I remember how your year started, BUT YOU DIDN'T QUIT.

 

That would make a fine epitaph for all of us if we'd earned it: (S)He didn't quit.

 

@Dominat0r, that grass looks plastic in that first photo, which makes me wonder about the bass too. Say, have you been spending the summer sitting on one of those Florida lanais, sipping Mai-Tais and photographing plastic bass on plastic grass once a day? ?
