I actually made my purchases the day before this post but wanted to wait till everything came in because after years of arguing with the bait monkey I FINALLY was able to get a bfs setup!Kastking was having a sale for there kestrel bfs combo and I had to capitalize on it. 6'3" ul rated for 1/32-1/4 oz (planing on sticking to 1/16th-1/8th range). Reel is an 8.4:1 that i spooled with 6# fc sniper. Now I couldn't just get a combo and not get some new lures; so I restocked on the tiny paca chunks (favorite finnese trailer), picked up some snack craws and juvy craws from glf along side there tube jigs, and 2 packs of bellows shads in the 2.8 I have had my on and have bin wanting test out for the first time as well. I can't wait for water to warm up and test everything out!

i was planing on capitalizing on both the tackle warehouse sale and kastkings website sale. sadly the same day i finally decided to make the purchases, only the KK sale was still going. so I bit the bullet with TW and had to remove a few items from my original list 😅

One of the latest tackle purchases I made was a 500yd spool of 15-lb KastKing Flourocote. Has anyone had experience with this line?

I bought a spool of 4 pound test a few years ago. It was fine in every respect such as not retaining a lot of memory and it held a Trilene knot without issues. Now mind you I’m fishing in retention ponds with zero abrasion issues.

Y'all already playing ball in WA? My first game (5/6 grade) is next week. I start HS ball Feb 19. (I’m an official). I usually call 10 months out of the year.

Also, I tried spending money today. Went to Hog Farmer and they were closed. Went to BPS and didn’t find anything. Went to Sportsman’s warehouse and had some 2.5” mooch minnows in my hand and decided I didn't need them…

I own a club. We go year round as far as practice. The coaching never ends. Games typically 8 to 9 months out of the year.

Also got skirt material for spinnerbaits and some Tush and Shimmy rig and also very exited to try the graph shad for first time.

I am an absolute snag magnet when it comes to jigs. I fish water with minimal cover, and it always happens the same way. I'll be working the jig, I'll pause it, and get an obvious thump, and when I set the hook, I'm hung. I fish jigs with moderate to heavy cover weed guards. I guess I'll just have to buy some more, again.

@Team9nine If you don’t mind sharing how is the first impression on the rod? Although I’m looking at a med light extra fast action currently the specs look right for what I’m looking for. I’m looking for a true extra fast as I currently have a Cortland 6’-3” extra fast that I really like but I’m looking for something with a bit more length.

I haven't strung it up yet, but I like the weight and balance for such a long spinning rod. Seems a bit stiffer than my MLs (6'6" and 7'), and just as fast, but not certain how to tell if it's a true XF. Does seem pretty crisp and responsive from just test bending, though. Big winter storm and very cold air coming through for the next 10 days, but hoping to get it out on the water right after. Should have a better sense once I throw a few baits on it. First impression is that this is a pretty sweet rod.

I'm heading to the Kissimmee Chain for a tournament early next month so I picked up a couple of golden shiner Rat-L Traps and a couple of golden shiner Jack Hammers.

I also picked up a few trolling motor plug receptacles to change out with the flimsy ones on my AP120. That will be my project on Sunday.

Man, I grew up on the north side of the state, but moved out to Madison from Jackson a while back.

Local show this weekend. Picked up some swimbaits and ned baits poured by local high school kids, Pretty nice stuff.

Also my entry into larger swimbaits, the 6th Sense 6.5” DRAW glide bait.

More money than I've ever purposely thrown in the lake!
