When it comes to jerkbaits, I've had some success leaning towards somewhat subtle patterns with just a touch of color. Might be a clear water deal.

Going to see if a few of the resident brown bass might fancy this one.

Megabass calls it GP Baby Kingyo, which, according to Google, translates to "goldfish" in Japanese.  I'm not seeing that.  Either way, digging it already.

Not a ton of clear water down here in MS, but good excuse to test it out and put some of these amazon gift card dollars to work!

Even a small order is a good order. This showed up yesterday from the copper state sale.

couple Huddleston’s, their bellows shad color shadillac and a few missile odds and ends.

I should be set on rat-l-traps for a while.

I bought the three colors on the bottom row, but the sale on the Bill Lewis site included a free chrome blue back for every one I bought, plus they threw in a free hat, and free shipping. Not a bad deal.

Please stop....my color list keeps expanding with every post you make. This could be a Lake Menderchuck smallie slayer as well.

Do those work for pike?

See now you're just being mean . . . . . .

Yes they work for pike but so does everything else.

Especially when there is NO wire leader involved anywhere in the rig.

But you know that.

Don't think they work for tuna.

They are too expensive to waste on tuna.  Besides they are sold out, some guy from an off the map place called Menderchuck has horded every last one.

What's the verdict on those TBX boxes vs alternatives?

Along with some other stuff, bought some of the large one (LSL2C) of these for spinnerbaits - buzzbe lure sleeves. Honestly I just don't get it. I'll end up putting them back in a CD case.

Coincidence;  I just sold a Stradic 1000 I bought in 2001.  $30 to a friend;  looked to be in better shape than yours, but I hadn't used it in 17 years.  I also have a size 2000 from 2001 which still sees occasional use.  I wonder what I paid for those reels back then compared to today's market.  Would one of you Reel Service guys comment on the quality of old vs. new?

Man I would loved to have had that 1000, built very very well. Almost no plastic inside it. My favorite spinner I’ve ever owned. Had it on an Avid ML rod back when they put alconite guides on them. It was stolen off my Skeeter when I was on an emergency bathroom break. Not a Ajay type either! Loved that rod and reel.
I will say the Stradic FM 1500 is very nice. (Had a unrealized, bad gallbladder)

They’re actually much more substantial than I thought they’d be. The plastic hinges can be a little sticky.  Overall, I’d glad I got them at the sale price but wouldn’t pay full.  Don’t get the little inserts though. They’re kinda worthless. The 3500s are tiny but really nice. Great for terminal and small jig heads.

One caveat - if you look at images of the  packaging, it shows that you can stack all the boxes really neatly. 2 3600s on top of a 3700 and 2 3500s on the 3600.  I thought they’d have little groves or something that would sort of “lock” them in (kinda like the Dewalt drill bit boxes). Not the case with these. They do fit flush meaning the dimensions are such that there’s no overhang when stacked but there’s nothing keeping them on one another. That was a bummer.

For size reference, I have the Bass Pro Advanced Angler backpack that I had 5 waterproof Plano 3600s in. I can get 3 of these 3600 deeps, 2 3600 regulars, and 2 3500s in the main compartment.

I guess all of those Black Friday sales emails disturbed the monkey so a little offering was in order to appease him

Three RkCralwer 55s, a couple of Damiki ToT Type-I spinnerbaits, a pack of 3" Easy Swimmers, and 5 packs of 3" Armor Shads that I got for half price. With that also a pair of Gründens Deck Boss boots and warm wool gloves because why not

A couple of weeks ago I found myself off for two weeks with nothing to do, had to cancel our yearly fall guided trip because my buddy had to work on the weekend, so I went to Ikea and got myself an Ikea cart and pegboard that fits nicely in my spare room. Now I have a little work bench for tackle.

And I might have something else on the way, I'll show you guys when it gets here 👀

Just ordered a Daiwa Tatula 3000 spinning reel.  ($180) Going to pair this with a 902 NRX I bought in the fall.

20% off from Tackle Direct.  Surprised the coupon worked on a Daiwa reel.

I’ve go through visit from the  bait monkey about every 3 years. This was the year.

so far let’s see so far:

Shimano vanford c2000hg

pflueger supreme 3000 (matches one I’ve had love it!)

curado mgl 151 6.2:1, 7.4:1, 7.4:1

curado 201k 8.5:1

rods:

Diawa tatula 7’ medium fast

Powell max 7’ medium heavy/xtra fast

bass xml 7’6” medium light xtra fast

dobyns fury 7’3” heavy

dobyns Kaden 7’3” medium heavy moderste

dobyns Kaden 7’3” medium moderate

ark rod lancer pro 6’10” medium/moderate (not sure how good of a jerkbait rod this will be)

bass pro shops cranking stick 7’3” heavy moderate

more tackle than I’d like to admit.
still hunting for a couple more reels.

No tackle but things for the new, to me, boat.  Transom saver, trolling motor seal, impeller and Lowrance Elite FS 10".

That hunt for a couple reels a while back blossomed greatly!

Well done

should've jumped on the Kistler deals.

Thank you! I had a couple vintage guitars collecting dust at my house I traded for most of this gear. Buddy of mine plays so I was happy to see them get some use.

I also fell in LOVE with the mgl spools. I’ve been a curado man for a long time but the newest ones I had were the k and I. These are smaller and cast little lures so much better. I was really impressed

I made the mistake of getting on their mailing list, and they had a drop.
