luckily, the spinnerbait bite was hot for the first hour and a half this morning. Lost a five pounder at the boat and then broke off a monster because I have no patience and didn’t retie. 😭 I keep telling myself it was a catfish…  it was a fun morning though.

I think you’re right.  A similar flattering is “preferred buyer” or “preferred customer”.  I have received emails from hunting suppliers with this introduction.   I haven’t hunted in 40 years, and have never scrolled a hunting supplier’s website.  I’m guessing there is evidence that a certain percentage of anglers also hunt.

The carbon grip has a micro coating which is much like the coating on my Studio Composite carbon knobs. My GLX rods have it on the graphite grip as well. My Evergreen/Daiwa super combat stick does not have it. This ABU rod has a counterbalance weight added. Rod was wrapped well and it looks to have Seaguides Titanium wire w zirconia. This is my first ABU rod ever.. I haven’t put a reel on it yet. The rod came very well packaged and was delivered well by FedEx. For $89, I can’t complain..

Last two reels have been bought from American tackle dealers. I’m not ready to deal with the tariff situation yet. Bought the spool about 3 months ago for another reel.

Not 100% sure yet.  I was throwing a spinnerbait on a M/XF the week before and when I hooked the first one after I bought it I remember thinking to myself, "that was weird".  I need some more time with it in my hands.  It sure has more backbone then I was expecting though.

It’s got that old school fast action-action. 6’10” I’d say you could throw pretty much whatever you want, it’s rated to an ounce. I’m gonna put a Zillion on it and give it a work out today..there’s no doubt in my mind you could throw a 3/4 ounce rattletrap..

Received my 2 Veritas TE's from Sierra Trading, along with a few things from TW.  The 7'2" M/F VTE  casting rod is a gem.  Feels like a 7'2" version of the old Avid M/XF.  Weighed 4.4oz on my scale, and has 843 Loomis power.  7'6"M spinning rod is also nice and will fling a slider or paddle tail a looong way.

 

Pickedd up 20 bags of Rage punch bugs @ $3 a bag.  These are like a 3.5" Vibra King tube w/ rage claws.  Man do they work 💣.

 

Few spinners, including my first Santone spinners.  Both have tied skirts and good blades.

Snagged up some swimbaits on sale, along with a few shimano spinnerbaits (not pictured).

I’m gonna likely grab another Alphas SV to put on it with 15lb Invizx. You can tell your wife it was half off lol can’t pass a good deal up. 
 

P.S If whichever model you want is out of stock. Pure fishing has a lot of the Abu Pro Series rods on sale for half off and they are pretty much just technique specific Veritas TE rods with different handle designs

The Zillion is my go to reel. I bought a Diawa Coastal SV-TW just for the paint job but it's no slouch. I'm very happy with it.
