Just a few things from Marks today. As an aside, they had the tourney on and Jacob Walker was in 6th place (Jacob and works at Marks)…

 

Anyway, a couple of the 4.8” bodegas in Green Pumpkin Juice and Wild Lava Craw. Gonna try punching the hydrilla with them. A package of 5.8” flick shake in watermelon red. Got some Zappu inch wacky I want to try these out on . Lastly a micro-max with some 3.5” spunk Shad for my bfs setup…

Ok, so I have to be down in Montgomery tomorrow for a NASO Summit (national association of sports officials) for my hs baseball umpiring. Anyway, I didn’t want to get up and buttcrack dawn and drive the 3 hrs. So, I came down tonight. Bonus for that is I stopped at Bass Pro in Prattville, AL. One I haven’t been to. So, since I hadn’t been there, I needed to make sure their point of sale system was working correctly.  Mostly stuff for my bfs setup. 

Bait monkey got me again with the TW mailing list 15% sale.

In Chattanooga with the wife. Hog Farmer Baits is just north. Went to get some more spunk shads. Forgot those. Grabbed a package of the pink lemonade bellows gills, a cue bomb finesse and a 3:16 rising son top hook swimbait. Couldn’t ever figure out what the cue bomb finesse was gonna be. Like, how do you finesse one of the most finesse baits there is? It’s the “hair”. It’s nowhere near the same thickness as a regular cue bomb. Ran over to BPS and grabbed these micro series baits for $2/ea 

 

I think I’m going to try and not buy anything in Q4 2025. So, I got one more day in Q3…

My tackle warehouse sale pile. Really liking the looks of the GLF underspin for BFS but even at the sale price I think they should come in a 2 pack.

The paddlin beaver is deadly on a 2/0 shakyhead or cover shot hook w/ a 1/8 - 3/16 bullet weight (or a 1/16 free rig weight if you need to slow down ROF). That tail wiggles more than a paddletail when fished like a swim jig.

 

I said I wasn’t going to buy anymore tackle this year. But, I had a $5 off $5 or more coupon from academy. I’m not going to throw away a free $5. Me and the tackle gods (AKA Mrs Smirak) talked it over and since it was virtually free, I bought a dirty jigs swim jig. No pics. We decided that since it was virtually free, it doesn’t count against my “no more 2025 tackle” rule.

I'm waiting on a reel to be delivered now and its sooooooo slow its killing me.

FedEx?.... more like FedSnailMail. I've been watching the tracking on it and since it is fedex ground it moved 3 states in 6 days. Its sitting in Atlanta right now. Supposed to be here by end of today. Not happening. Find something else to work on.

 

I don't why it is but I simply do not want to work on rods any more. Reels. Can't wait to get into them and play with them. Rods needing work just collect dust in the corner for now.

That’s nothing, I’ve been waiting 4 months now on three Gary Loomis rods! Latest update said  “should” be shipped in the next 4 to 5 weeks!

I can only hope.
The real pain is I have two new Curado MGL HG 150’s and one Vandord 3000 with three spools of Smackdown sitting on the shelf waiting on the rods. That’s what really hurts!
