Thanks for the 'pre-confidence'.  I picked up several bags of these on sale last year and need to wet one.

Be careful, might make some of your other baits obsolete, lol.

Well I finally found myself a jerkbait\popper rod...ended up going with a st Croix mojo 6ft 8 med ex fast. I wanted a fast but this is what they had..still has a fairly soft tip and I'm gonna spool it up with 10# big game so it should perform just fine. Best part was I walked into Scheels with $150 in gift cards and the rod after tax was $149.80. Perfect!

Placed my first Siebert's order:

Fogy - Weight: 3/8, Blade Color: Black Nickel, Collar: Wire Tie, Skirt Color: Black & Blue
Fogy - Weight: 3/8, Blade Color: Black Nickel, Collar: Wire Tie, Skirt Color: Hot Sauce
Fogy - Weight: 3/8, Blade Color: Black Nickel, Collar: Wire Tie, Skirt Color: Lightning Craw
Fogy - Weight: 3/8, Blade Color: Stainless, Collar: Wire Tie, Skirt Color: MudShad
Cosmic Double Willow Spinnerbait - Weight: 3/8, Collar: Wire Tie, Skirt Color: Super White

Then ordered what is seemingly the only Yamamoto Zako 4” 6pk Watermelon Copper Orange Red Laminate left in existence from ALF

Also ordered some bearings for some level wind upgrades during teardown/cleaning.

fleetfarm has boxes of stock sitting in the isles and is in the process of stocking the shelves.

I bought a couple of these jigs, they are $1.49 a piece, this is not a sale and looks to be a brand that is new to me and the fleetfarm i go to.

The jig has a molded in bait hold and checks all the boxes for what i need in a jig and not worry if i lose it.

A while back a certain poster on here mentioned how the Archelons may be discontinued, so I made sure I stocked up. I couldn't even tell you how many packs I have because of that. Thankfully they were wrong. :D

Hah, did the same thing when I got it into my head SK was going to discontinue the Shellcracker plastics, I bought a pile of them.

PM me if you wanna swap some Aechelons for some Shellcrackers!

I'll keep that in mind. I have a few bags of Shellcrackers I've been meaning to dip into.

I mostly use them as jig trailers, so it's not even like I go through them quickly, but they were unique enough that I panicked when I thought I couldn't get any more.

I was gonna give them a shot bed fishing last year but then forgot.

I decided I want to try some soft plastics from some of the smaller bait makers this year to see what they may be able to come up with. I saw these flat worms from Next level baits, and couldn’t help but order some to try them out. I got a single pack of the red shad, and a bunch of packs of the perch color. I think this perch color may be a winner for my drop shot fishing in my local lake.

Picked up a G. Loomis PR844C GLX.  Odd rod but fun to fish.  Sensitive, old school taper, and loads perfectly.

Also the Monkey got me for some tackle.  $150 goes quick these days....

Addressed a low inventory of assorted terminal tackle as well as a couple of the more productive early season paddletails.

Nice.  Have to ask.... What do you use the split rings for?

Do not like regular round split rings at the line tie for any bait.

Hate when the line gets caught in the "split".

Usually go with oval rings on everything but lately I've been liking these

pear shaped rings at the line tie of my topwater Treble hooked baits.

Especially 'The Walking Baits'.

One of the first things I do when I get a hardbait that has a split-ring at the tie-on point is change out the rings. Cranks get oval, jerks/topwaters get the pear-shaped.

Do you ever use clips for jerkbaits/cranks or just the oval rings?

Ever use clips for either of them?

I have clips but RARELY use them.

Prefer instead to retie; which after a few fish, I often do - just because.

Allows me to have 'knot confidence'.

Otherwise with the clip, I might fish the same knot on a rig all day without ever checking it,

until it's too late.

YMMV

I like Duo-Loc clips, and I'd say somewhere between 2/3 and 3/4 of my baits have them on them already.  I usually remove the split rings when I open the package.  I don't like leaving my knot for more than a fish or two.

Nope - direct tie to the split-rings...same reasons that A-Jay stated.
