Latest Bait Monkey gut punch.

 

These Conquistador Tackle finesse craw trailers are great. They have a muted/matte look to them, and lots of salt/scent. The smaller one (2.5") is rigged on a Greenfish Tackle Bad Little Dude Jig. The 3.5" is rigged on a Strike King Bitsy Flip. These combos will catch every smallie in the lake.

 

The SPRO Swimbait Shad is a cool little bait. There's floating, slow sink and fast sink. I'm replacing a floater that a pike snatched a few weeks ago. They're a little over 4", so very unassuming. They wake very nicely, whether retrieving slow or burning it. Awesome on those mornings/evenings when the water is glass calm. 

 

Finally, I got the Dobyns Champ Extreme 745, which I've been eye-balling for some time now. I have the Fury (swimbait rod), a Sierra, a Kaden (and another on the way) and a Champ XP. All great rods for their price points. As soon as I held this in my hands, I knew..."yup, this is a step up". As it should be. Can't wait to tie a jig on this thing and see what it's got. But, now I need to buy a reel for it. It's a funny thing, isn't it??! 🙄

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

No pictures yet but my wife got me an OSP soft plastic Bento Box from the Hook Up Tackle. She let me peek at it before she confiscated it for my birthday at the end of the month.  For $100 I got 25 packs of OSP baits and 4 of those packs were the rubber dice. I have not used these. I'm kind of excited to try them out. For the money it was a great deal. I kind of wish I would have bought another one before they sold out.

They had four different boxes and she picked one. When it arrived the box wasn't totally closed so I checked to make sure it was all there. Plus they shorted me a bait or two in the past in one of these boxes. It was just an accident that they fixed. I could have totally grabbed whatever and she would have been none the wiser.

Seriously though, I'd love to be able to fish with you and all the members here! For us who live in closer proximity, we could probably make it happen some time. 

My unnecessary purchase today: I've been enjoying a Cashion Element Multi-Purpose rod as my truck bed rod, throwing almost everything I want to on it. Usually 129, but Sportsman has it for 91. No brainer for me

 

(in all fairness, I do have a reel without a home, so that wasn't fair to the reel)

It is where they put a spinning handle on backwards to create a foregrip

Really like those Power Slides. I still curse Rapala for ending the 13 Fishing line of baits. The hard baits were top notch!

Snagged and lost a lucky A-rig last weekend, bummer but it caught 100+ fish so it lived a good life. I'm down to my last mini rig so time for a fall restock. Punch fishing 15% code took out some of the sting.

The Bait Monkey got me for a few this week.  The Megabass White Butterfly is one the best colors I've seen.  I know the bass don't care but man, I wish I would have bought two of each.
