Speaking of the Wee Craws, have you seen the new matte finishes Rebel is releasing on that line of baits? One of the best looking finishes I’ve seen in a while. I don’t even throw the baits, but am still tempted to buy a few - lol

Thanks for that heads up. I’ll dig into it during the winter. I’m game for a couple of new patterns. They have been a producer on the river for me the last 40-50 years. Glad to see Rebel do something a bit more positive.

I’ve seen where Rapala has introduced a new line of Shad Raps, they may be calling them Elites or something like that. They have a wire or a reinforcement in them. On smaller sizes like 5’s 7’s and 8’s I’m not quite sure of the thinking on that. Not a true musky size in my mind and if fishing bass or walleye with them and a Musky, Pike or big Pickerel would be more apt to break or teeth cut your line or leader. If you didn’t loose your lure I could see balsa wood possibly getting damaged. Any river Musky that I’ve caught and landed by accident while bass fishing has not damaged my lures. But I can see the reinforcement used for toothy critter sized lures. Maybe I’m seeing something wrong.

Not exactly a monkey purchase but I was given a $50 Amazon gift card through my health-care for getting a physical. So I needed some line and saw this on Amazon for $58 for 200 meters. Digitaka sells it for $78. Crazy price for line. I wouldn't pay that much for it but for $8, I think I can swing that.

This is supposed to be the best YGK makes. We will see.

TW sale stuff, mostly restocking essentials. Even the sale price on the vmc tungsten 2 packs sucks but I really like the baitkeeper on them compared to my normal keitech balls that have to be superglued to survive 1 fish.

This primate is making my wife really mad…when she says something about it, I blame the VA for not giving me hearing aids.

Stacked the TW newsletter discount with the River2Sea 30% flash sale on TW and got a tactical wake, a spro rat, a couple of double plopper buzz baits and a few nest raiders. Never tried these before, but at around $3, I couldn’t pass them up. All of this was just a hair over (less than $5) $100.

Wow that fish looks blind in that eye yet still healthy enough which leads me to believe Doug Stange is right when he preaches about the lateral line in addition to bass’s other senses. Also that’s a beautiful picture from what I assume is the marina parking lot.

river2sea tactical wake from the TW double dip sale just arrived

My order arrived today. Helps that their warehouse is only about 4 hrs from me. So, UPS ground is actually next day.

Quick question though - what sized hooks did you get? All the literature and even the box said 2/0. However, they don’t fit my runcl hook covers for 2/0, so I’m thinking they may be 3/0?

Yeah, but that thing can weigh a fart down to a tenth of an ounce.

I think I'd attach some kind of floating buoy to it just in case it went overboard.  Sort of like you see with the boga grips.

looks to be 2/0 4x wire as advertised, they're the same size as a 2/0 owner st-36 just extra beefy. I have noticed treble covers are a lot more inconsistent than hooks themselves.

LOL! I was planned on also getting SC minnow.  So I do want two...just can't decide on the lighter color.  I mean heck, they are basically 50% off...

My chrome gill came in today and let me take a word from when my 29 yr old was younger…it’s fire!

Gonna throw it at Wheeler Lake tomorrow. Pretty excited…

So I think I got an ok deal on these. A couple of weeks ago I won an an online auction for this LC topwater pack. After taxes fees and shipping it was 47.36 so 4.31 a lure. This will really put pressure on me to up my topwater game. Few more items later from my weekend trip.

So part 2 I picked up some stuff at R & R sports in Bettendorf Iowa. This is the second time I have stopped and it is a nice shop and also caters to the hunting crowd too. 1 pack of 3.75” swim on in sunfish swirl, 1 4.25” swim on, and 1 craw tube in tilapia. I love that craw tube. I needed a water red tube with the ribs, used to use the old Trigger X tube and bought a 100 pack last year figuring worst case I cut the craw bits off. Never needed too, the tubes were dynamite.

I do really like the colors on the soft swimbaits, PT Shad. A little bummed they also didn’t have it in the smallest size.
