Craig P
TW sale got me today….kind of. I have been eyeing the 6’-8” Physyx Casting rod and TW had a 15% off sale. I have been waiting for my CC rewards to equal the cost of the rod so with 15% off, hey now! I did not buy it from TW though, I called my favorite store in Pa (Susquehanna Tackle) and they said they would price match it. Sweet! It will be here tomorrow and I am sure I will be fishing it Sunday.

king fisher
I used up one pack of worms last weekend, so I replaced what I lost, and somehow ended up getting enough for free shipping. What a deal. 11

St Croix went all-in with this series and is offering 17 casting models. Just FYI, but those DX rods are HVF/glass blend. I used it today with a variety of small baits. A Rebel Wee Craw, an inline spinner I make and a BooYah Pond Magic Spinbait. It was a learning curve though, I am use to grabbing a 7’ or so rod and putting some oomph (technical term) into it and doing my thing. While you can still do that with this rod, the best results came from just slowing down, letting the rod correctly load and being smooth with it. Once I figured that out, it was game on and my casting accuracy came together. By the end of the day, my accuracy and hooking ability with this rod is off the charts. I can’t really say anything negative about this rod. If I had to nit pick, the trigger finger rest could be just a tad bigger but we are really reaching for something here at this point. I caught a bunch of small fish today and going with BFS style presentations puts you into sunny territory so you have to weed through some of them but I also caught a couple of nicer ones today too on the BooYah. While the Booyah is small itself, it keeps the sunnies at bay.

I should have said I prefer this one over the Quantum KVD composite rods I have been killing it with for several years. Quite a bit of it boils down to the longer cork vs that shorter Eva foam handle. My end game is to eventually replace every split grip I have with full cork. Makes me happier. KP Duty
The Steez 'Real Control' rod I ordered from japan Lure Shop showed up yesterday. I ordered it on July 4th, so got here quick via UPS. It is light for a 7-3"H @ 107g's, and I like the taper. I was disappointed in 2 areas...the lack of an exposed blank reel seat like is on the steez bottom contact rod. Also the lack of a butt cap is a head scratcher. It did come with 2 rod socks...a nice full zip, and then a light duty slip on deal.

If bluegill is primary forage in your area get some in Junebug too. It's been killer here. Strangely, Junebug anything else has been a dud for me around here since forever, but in the Jerk Minnow it's been money.
Super User NorthernBasser Posted July 15 Super User Share Posted July 15 Re-stocked on some Easy Shaker's (awesome drop shot bait) and some Super Chunk Jr's, which I really like for finesse jig trailers. Along with the Cavitron, War Eagle is probably my favorite buzzbait. Siebert order. The Baby Rage Craws are also great finesse jig trailers. TW 4th of July sale. The new TW Black Blue color is probably my new favorite. I hate that it's TW exclusive since I'm used to getting Jackhammer's around $11-$12 other places. But TW doesn't run many sales like that, so I took advantage of the 15% off and got 5 more. Never fished these Hag's baits but figured I'd try them out. I thought they looked a little familiar. Turns out they look a lot like one of the Googan baits.
