Everything is out of stock now.

It was like that earlier. It appears to be a slickdeals link. Not sure how it works but my guess is they blast the promo and show stock every so often ... just my guess

Just wanted to drop in and say hi to you all. I'm not as active 'round these parts anymore. Haven't bought anything in about 5 month. Haven't had the boat out in almost 5 months. Really sucks, but it'

Got a kick out of these huge markdowns.

Two of the rods from my Pure Fishing orders arrived with damage.  I sent an email to Abu directly but I am not sure what to expect.  However, if you ordered a Veritas rod with the coupon, it took like the price of a Revo X casting reel to $30 shipped.

Overtons has some decent boat stuff in their clearance section for an extra 50% off (code is SAVE50). A lot of cheap props, seats, hydrofoils, and keel guards.

I think the Pure Fishing deals ruined me. Now I find myself scoffing at the 20-30% off sales on other sites. :xmasicon_mrgreen:

The 6' Berkeley Lightning rod I ordered with one of the 50% off codes arrived well packaged in a tube and in perfect shape. That ought to do it for me for a long while. Can't afford any more of these "sales".

Oh wait, I still need a reel for this one...

Ok, here's a great deal.

Fish USA has Expride A's (casting) on sale. Only 2 models in stock. The 6'8 MH/F and 7'2 MH/M (glass).

They're already marked down to $168.99 and $181.99. But they have a 20% off code- CATCHEM

But when you apply the code, it's taking more than 20% off. So the prices on both models ends up being $116.99 and $125.99. Both STEALS.

I am so sad I missed this

Back on for those who missed out

Apparently when it says "limited to buy 1" it means only one of any lb test. I tried one each of 12, 15 and 20 and it only discounted them $4 each or something at checkout. When you load only one spool in the cart it gives you the $1 price. And free shipping.

So what's the catch here? I went ahead and ordered one 12lb spool because it was only $1 but I can't help wondering if this is a scam of some kind.

If I had to guess, they're trying to get rid of all line in old packaging since it states "Two kinds of packaging, random delivery." Who knows, but with PayPal it should be fairly secure.

Honestly, it would be cheaper for them to dump these things in the trash than sell them for $1 with free shipping, if the goal is to get rid of old packaging. Something seems fishy.

I doubt many fisherman use Kast King fluoro. May be a way to get people to try it out/get people talking.

Worst case scenario, Kastking got hacked and I'll get a settlement mailer in a year or so asking if I would like to participate. Either way I'm winning

I got a Spool of 15lb even though I have zero use for it. I will use it for leaders and if nothing else, will give it away.

I received a tracking number from kastking today for my 1.00 fluro.

I don't have my line yet, but I already have a "Welcome to the Family" email from KastKing.

It's an inexpensive way for a company to build a mailing list and only get people who have proven themselves to be the kind of people who will spend a buck on fishing gear.

Oh, and my 2nd and 3rd Fenwick Elite Inshore rods are here and undamaged from Pure Fishing. I ordered them Thursday and wouldn't have been surprised to see them after Christmas.

They were in individual boxes, each with the L-insert, and the two boxes were strapped together with 4 straps.

I haven't tried the new 7' MF and ML-F yet, but they are downright dainty and properly scaled down compared to the first one, a 7' HF. I think I'm going to enjoy all of them a lot.

Has Pure Fishing stopped the use of the codes?

Pure Fishing? Dunno

Other sites have Christmas sales going on, but nothing like the discounts PF was giving.

Sounds like an inexpensive way to build a marketing file with verified email and shipping addresses. From people who are definitely anglers and willing to at least try KastKing.  Probably $4-5 all-in cost per person, offset by some people purchasing other stuff while they are there.

It's an interesting experiment for them, especially if the line turns out to be decent.

This is most likely what they are doing, but perhaps even more similar they are using a time old fishing marketing technique that's highly successful.     Put your products initially into angler's hands at whatever price point/free samples, the point is that some will end up catching great fish and will no doubt attribute the success in part to the line.   Bingo, new Kastking customer for life.   You continue to buy what catches fish.  Granted, if it's terrible line/product.......they should have just dumped it in the trash, but I suspect the company wants to create a marketshare for themselves in an otherwise very hard marketplace to crack with as good and relatively cheap as Fluorocarbon has become.
