The 80 should hold about 50 yards of 50#, not sure if your planning to cast half a football field but if nothing that just means less wasted line when we put 80 yards on, fish about 40 of it and then replace it because its too low...

This setup will be for my heavier baits, 3/4 oz is likely my biggest. Some 3/8 oz jigs in there as well. I haven’t been bass fishing for very long but I love the 70 so far. I haven’t actually fished with it yet as my bass fishery is closed. I have casted it a few dozen times and I really like it, I wish I would have bought it as my 1st baitcaster. It has training wheels, I’ve actually tried to backlash it and was not successful. Can’t give much more feedback at the moment.

Its not, everything I have ordered has comebin new condition, many others have ordered from the and I have never heard anyone say they have had an issue. I agree on the website part but otherwise they ship quick etc...their eBay store has almost a 100% rating and they have been around awhile, but by going direct you avoid the ebay tax. Not associated with them in any way, someone on this thread brought them up and that is how I found them...

Well the Abu reel deal that was posted ended up getting its delivery date pushed to mid-late January. Not worth the wait so I pulled the trigger on a JDM SLX DC for the kiddo for $130. 

I have a spare SLX medium/fast rod I got for half price last week, so that will work out well for Xmas.

Which abu reel deal? If it was the max pro you could also get them off amazon for the same price, just wasn't sure which reel...although the slx dc reel is a nice reel...shimanonis my reel of choice,

Daiwa Tatula sv tws 103 (TASV103HL) 6:3:1 on sale for $149.99 @ tackle warehouse. The daiwa model codes are rather confusing. I don’t believe this model has the zero adjuster knob. I picked one up to pair with a Tatula xt MH/F 7’ for some top water stuff and spinnerbaits/chatterbaits.

It was the Abu one from Amazon, at time of order it said it would arrive before Christmas, then a couple days ago it updated to Jan 15-20th.

Well the timing worked out, I got my bonus from work in the meantime so he gets a sweet DC reel and a GLF rod instead. (And I'm picking out a new setup for me too).

I tried reaching out recently to cancel my order and get a refund. Not only were they quite rude to me, but their cancellation fee was so atrocious I said screw it and will just wait. I say my odds of ever receiving that rod are pretty thin at this point. Super disappointing. I wish I had just bought a rod from a real, respectable company.

I funks with Sheltons now, killer deals and if you follow on Facebook you'll see they're legit. 

 

My guess is they purchase super close out items when small retailers go out of business or come up on some crazy overstock from warehouses. 

 

Look at their Strike King Rage swimmers or Thunder Crickets... or their Jackhammers. Killer deals

Sorry you had that experience and still waiting after 8 months. I only bought one rod from them, but it took 5 months to get it (April - September, basically missed most of the season). To be fair, they clearly tell you this on their website and checkout multiple times it could take 4-6 months+ (arguably yours is taking longer). Everyone should believe that estimate if it's not in-stock.

Mine was a BlackWidow so don't know if that influences the time frames. The rod overall is nice, but not so much that you couldn't get equivalent feeling and capability from another brand that can get it to you faster.

Honestly I had money burning a hole in my pocket and none of the TW deals were good enough to get me.

You'll get it, just takes them forever to get them.  I think I went 10 months on one purchase and 8 months on another.

Their Seaguar line the deal IMO  and some other terminal tackle that I usually go through. I snatched a gift card as well. Most of the soft and hard baits seemed to be leftover excess or obsolete stuff.

There were definitely some good deals mixed in but a lot of the stuff that was on sale that I use, I already have surplus or backups of lol.
