Yeah sales tax is what drives me away from Tackle Warehouse myself.

 

Now Omnia is charging it. Ugh.

 

Now I'm probably changing focus to The Hook Up, Discount Tackle, and The Tackle Trap.

 

It actually works out because the smaller guys will get my money.

You could live in Alabama where there are like 8 cities currently suing the state due to the online sales tax revenues not being distributed equally/equitable within the state. 

Basspro has the Abu Garcia Zatas for $109 right now.  I’ve seen mixed reviews but that seems like a good price.

I would **NEVER** purchase anything from Edge Rods/Composite Ventures. Terrible to deal with.

It sounds like they make a very good product, you just have to be VERY PATIENT with getting said product.

I ordered a rod last year during Gary Loomis birthday celebration in May i believe when they were 60% off and I didn't get it until OCTOBER!!! It is a very nice rod but man, it's ridiculous how long you have to wait for them. I see where they're emails are now saying only order if you can wait 3+ months for the rod but on their web site it still shows lead times of 3 - 5 weeks and they should remove that completely OR change it from weeks to months!!!

I purchased a rod from them several years ago, the build quality was terrible & 4 crooked guides. It was returned and I gave them a month to refund my order. I ended having to submit refund to my credit card company. I would never recommend anybody to purchase anything from Edge Rods/Composite Ventures.

My EDGE Rods story is this -- I ordered a rod, at a significant discount -- the website said 5 to 7 weeks -- when that did not occur I emailed them, multiple times -- eventually they got back to me and said it would be approx. 2 more months -- it was winter (everything is frozen solid here in MN, so I could not use the rod even if I had it) -- the rod came in March of that year -- with a broken guide -- I emailed them and they sent me a label to return the rod (I had the label that night) -- I returned it and within 2 weeks I had a new rod -- I ordered a second rod from them (during the Gary Loomis birthday sale) -- It took about 3 months to get the rod (again, it was during the winter so no rush for me to get the rod, they told me upfront that it would be 3 months and that is exactly when I received it) -- the rod was in perfect shape when delivered -- I paid about half the cost (for the EDGE rods) of what I had paid for rods that are at the same performance level -- I have found these rods to be strong performers for me, for the price point I paid for them I consider them to be an excellent value -- YMMV from mine

Walmart has the strike king 12 Days of Fishmas advent calendar for $5. Looks like it’s the V2 only. Comes with a KVD 1.5, mini spinner bait, a tumbleweed dice, and some assorted soft plastics. Killer deal if you dig the 1.5. Look at the reviews for a picture of what’s included. I don’t have anymore room for tackle or I’d buy 5 or so lol

I screwed up at Black Friday. Had the $100 bento in my cart, went back to look at the contents of the bfs bento and by the time I went to check out, the $100 bento was out of stock. I was so mad!!

Looks like Haul is back up to 50-60% off on a lot of their fishing stuff... not sure why it goes through cycles like this.
