Academy had all their H2O lures on sale the other day when I was there. I think their sales run through Tuesday (tomorrow). Some Big Bait stuff was on sale too, and it looked like they are discontinuing some Zoom colors, because some colors are on clearance.

My thoughts on this as well.  I keep hearing too many horror stories. 

Of course the Supreme goes on sale after I bought two President LE's.  I've had excellent reliability with all Pflueger reels from the Trion up to the Supreme XT over various generations.  I don't do anything to maintain them either.  The only one that I recall going bad was user error; I left it in the rod locker and exposed to too much moisture for an extended period of time.

It also has Pflueger Supreme spinning reel 30 size for $64. This is an upgraded version of the President, with not aluminum, but magnesium body and rotor. That's a huge upgrade in my book, given the President is made of graphite. 

 

I picked up the Veracity spinning 7ft ML from this sale. Every rod I ever ordered from Midway has arrived broken,  I'm hoping that streak ends.

Sorry to hear that; hope you have better luck this time. So far I've received 3~4 rods from them, and all of them arrived safely in standard tubes.

I bought a President XT last year and have been very happy with it. I don't need another reel but this is a really good deal. Might have to grab one.

 

 

Yes, but instead of being 80 it's 50, they do it every year or ish.

I have had good luck with them also.  Rods are packed solidly.  Their sales are crazy and shipping is stupid fast.  I have spent waaaaay too much money there this year.

That is a really nice unit for the price.  Looks like it comes with the 3 in 1 active imaging transducer too.  I've had the HDS 7 Carbon for 2 whole seasons now and I like it.  If I was in the market for another one I'd definitely buy this.

 

Quite often, when these marine electronics companies introduce their new products, the ones from last year or the year before go on clearance.  That is exactly what is occurring here.

That's BS.  Pflueger has been part of pure fishing since 2007.  plenty of people have used and liked the quality of the reels between then and now.

2004 actually...but ya, it wasn't until the 2020 reels that they started sliding downhill.
