I may have nodded off once or twice but that was about the extent of it.  Should have just showered, dressed and sat in the truck all night......

Thank you for the support Tim

I am back in states.

Still one more day of travel before I am at the homestead.

Trip was once again killer.

A report, pics and some video to follow in a few days.

It's going to be a few more days before I can get to do the editing of the video we shot.

Weather here is about to get very 'seasonal' so I'm going when I can.

Have to get to this later.

But here's a teaser - totals for the 6 1/2 days of fishing.

A couple of days of rain slowed the big fish bite down quite a bit.

Still quite an awesome time . . .

I think you made a cut and paste error.  The “over 10 lbs” section is missing!

While we did have several sessions where we were doing the every cast deal - tons of 3-6 lb bass, the DD didn't happen this trip - Still plenty of scoreable bass to keep us happy.

And you know who's not complaining ?

Well, it can't be a "perfect" trip every time. Still an amazing trip. Weather must have had them off just a bit. Any highlights for lures? What depth? Speed of presentation? What was the guide's take on the results of the trip? What rods did you bring? I would love to know your proven travel method (types of rods and rod carriers for the trip). I am guessing the week was probably a difficult week of fishing, but you found a way to turn it into a plethora of 7s with 8s and a great number of 9s. Well done. We will tag along together one of these days. That time is coming soon!

Thank you my friend ~

As always - Big Fish Jeff & I are always on a mission for the bigger bass.

So we fish areas, tackle & baits that support that.

Fishing 'shallower' here can yield an almost endless number of 2-4lb bass.

We are often found fishing off deeper points that bottom out in 20-40 ft.

Here we are throwing 3/4 & 1 oz jigs with a 7 inch senko trailer - I know it sounds weird but they choke them (Black & Blue and Watermelon Red work well) Stroking a large rattle bait off the bottom & up the drop is good too.

My favorite bite came fishing suspended bass on deep flats where the bottom may be 40 feet but the bass are chasing bait in the top 20 ft. 5, 6 & 7 inch swim baits as well as 3/4 oz underspins are very good here.

My gear is all  6'9", 7' and  7' 4" Heavy Travel rods (G Loomis & Fenwick) and 200 & 300 (Shimano & Quantum) size reels - The Tranx 300 HG and the Callcutta 300D both did the majority of my heavy lifting.

20-25 lb Tatsu & Invisx FC were the line of choice.  I use one 6'9" MH rod for lighter flukes, and smaller baits.

As for our Guide, all the guides at the lodge are very good and know that lake well.

We are fortunate in that we have able to use Manual every trip (since 2013).

He seems to 'get us' and the way we like to fish. (plus we tip him very well so that may play a role too).

The big fish numbers on this trip IMO are 'average' and what I'd expect to see every time I go.  Although they do pale in comparison to the last visit, which was not one I'd ever expect to duplicate, but we'll keep going and see what happens.

Hope that helps.

(The video is solid and still in the editing phase - few more days. Taking my wife for Chemo this morning so editing takes a major back seat right there)

Thank you J.

I am merely a spectator in the cheap seats.  Lynn does all the heavy lifting ... every 24 days.  I will say that sharing the space with several of the strongest and bravest Spirits I've ever encountered, is both an honor and a privledge.   Patients and Staff.

My sentiments exactly.  I really hope you and your wife can look at this in the rearview mirror in the near future.

Thank You Sir -

Unfortunately this deal includes the term incurable.

So we're riding it out.

Can't wait!

In other news, I beat my PB zander from old father Thames today, and got soaked in torrential rain. LOL
