Trilene XT. Low stretch, handles great, abrasion resistant, great knot strength, available everywhere, priced right. Nothing I don't like about it.

Same for me brush hawgs didn't work as well for me this year seemed they wanted lizards more weirdly?.  I kept trying my brush hawgs to no avail but everytime I changed to a watermelon or black lizard I got some.

Maxima Ultragreen or Trilene XL, I personally use the Maxima, but if I am at Walmart or wherever and they don't have any I don't have any reservations about grabbing the Trilene in a pinch.

I agree with @John6.47. It would be a Zoom U tail in Junebug. Use a 6'6" BPS Bionic Blade with a Lews Tournament MP Reel in a 6.8:1 gear ratio. 1/8 oz. weight and a 2/0 offset round bend hook and 12# Sunline Super Florocarbon line.

 

As for mono I would recommend Sufix Siege. This has been the best mono I have ever tried.

Yeah weird. I usually have great success with them. But the fish gets what the fish wants as always. 

My used to be favorite t rig bait was the yama senko but they just ripped too easily to keep using them. Plus a worm with a tail that flutters or swims is deadly instead of a straight tail. 

Tough question. I would have to say a Zoom Finesse Worm. 

 

It depends on where I'm fishing.

 

For example, in the Atchafalaya Basin or Bayou Black Marsh it would have to be a Gene Larew 4" Salt Craw in Black/Blue Glitter/Blue Claws. I can use it on a Texas Rig, Rage Rig, or as a jig trailer.

 

At Toledo Bend or Sam Rayburn it would be a Zoom UV Speed Worm in Watermelon Red. Like Catt I also would dip the tail in chartreuse dye.

Great explanation I appreciate it. What’s your go to bullet weight? I would’ve said those but the zooms seem more durable to me than the original Yama’s.

I use Strike King Tour Grade Tungsten in 1/8, 3/16, and 1/4 usually. Always the lightest possible. But I rarely use a weight for a Senko, and yet it would be the one plastic I would choose if I could only have one. Sorta funny if you think about it.

Lotsa fish caught on mono before flouro came along, and todays mono is better than ever. Big game is good mono too, but more stretch and memory than XT. 

Leaders are no big deal. With a little practice the Alberto is easily tied out on the water, and plenty strong.

Don't be afraid to give straight braid a whirl. It's been my experience that we fisherman are more line shy than the fish most of the time. Wish I had ignored the marketing hype and figured this out sooner.

Dunno about the abraision, XT is tough stuff. Might be a wash there, but Big Game is famous for it's shock absorbing ability. At it's price point, I don't know of any line that can hang with Big Game. There's a reason it's so popular.
