curado dc, for me but honestly,  i use my bfs set up just as much, a daiwa jdm ltd sv lite.

 

i feel so extravagant calling them mid priced, but these days they are.  i also have a lew's mach 2  and it's a very good reel, it's my knock-about rig that goes on my travel rod for bike trips, or rides in the trunk of my car just in case i happen to see a spot in my travels that i need to check out right now

My curados and slx mgl probably get used the most. Not really saying much, I guess, 95% of my reels are either a curado or slx.

Currado k’s for me. 

DAIWA SV103H or SV103XS swap in a 1016 G1 spool if you want more distance over control, perfect all round solid reel.

 

The OG green curados are also great if you can find one.

 

Lews/Abu/ Doyo etc. if you want to swap parts between various overseas off brand reels.

Super Duty G here too. Three of 'em. All on stout rods, spooled with braid, drags locked down. They handle all my heavy cover duty. Oldest is four years old. Sees action most every trip. Often is in my hand most of the day pitchin a T-Rig.. Still running smooth.  My two 3yo Tournament MB's get their fair share of use too. Also holding up really well. I service them once a year, and fish 'em two or three days a week from March through November. Bearings get cleaned and lubed as needed. Rock solid reels.

PJ:  Wish I had a solid answer.  I don't use any one reel enough to call it a work horse.  Normally I rotate combos.  The past few years have seen me getting out less than normal.  I feel I have quite a few that could be used for work horse duty.  Some have already been mentioned.

 

Like you I love my OG Fuegos.  It was my first baitcast reel.  They were being closed out when I bought mine.   Posting a list seems too much like bragging.  I've been buying baitcasting reels for almost 13 years, and I don't sell.  I've purchased several that were out of production before I got into baitcasting reels.  A few of those reels that probably could be considered work horse reels are Black Max 1600C, Chronarch 100B, TD-Z 105H and TD-X 100 HSDF.

Most of my casting reels are the slx or variant of. I do own a few different casting reels, but they're easier to afford without sacrificing their quality. 

 

My workhorse is my 6:3:1 slx xt in my st croix legend glass. 

The old gold Carbonlites has been taken a beating the past few yrs.

Tournament MBs or now MPs, BB1s, and Curado 70s.  I honestly wish those were the only ones I had - the Tatula SVs, Revos of various ages, and Chronarch MGL are still ticking, so I use them and service them annually, but I won't buy more.

Another vote for the Curado, any generation. I like the K’s

I forgot about those.  They are one of the reels (and TD-Z 105H) that I learned to cast #5 Shad Raps on.  Nice reels.

Indeed, lol! Matter of fact, I only have two RH reels. The first is the first casting reel I bought. I was thinking I’m right hand dominant so I should get a RH reel. I was a noob back then and didn’t know any better. I bought it as a combo from a friend who only used RH reels and wound up training myself to use it. Every other casting reel I bought has been LH since but I can use either quite well now. I do prefer LH when possible. The second one was given to me by a fishing buddy who decided to stick with spinning. It is a Rhino so no wonder he gave up quickly, lol.
