I may actually have enough open water to catch a couple tomorrow. Gonna try anyway.

I actually try to avoid watching fishing videos during the off season, especially in early winter.  I found that it fuels my craving to go fishing. That results in an increase in both anxiety and frustration. As it gets closer to open water fishing, I will occasionally check out a video about early season movements of bass, or a presentation that I either haven't used or am not very familiar with.

i don't like being cold. once the air gets below 50°F i pack up my gear.  i don't care what anyone thinks about that. i have a buddy who calls me almost every day and says "hey lets go fishing"  and every single time, i tell him the same thing. frick off, i like staying warm, if you wanna go fishing, then go have a great time, good luck, call me in april.

usually, in the winter, i'm laid off.  when that happens, i stay home, play my guitar way too loud,  bake, sleep in 3 hour stretches. i do my best to avoid having company, leave the house, or spend money.

i like fishing - when it's warm out.

The news is so negative these days nearly every day for me starts with fishing videos/shows as I drink my morning coffee. Thank goodness for Tacticalbassin M/W/F and Zona, Matt Stefan, Greg Blanchard and many others filling in those other days.

I'll have a new project to keep me occupied next week. I bought a new Polar Kraft 1648 mod v. I wanted to get a lowe 1852 aura, but I can't even order one until March and it wouldn't arrive until September or October .... Maybe.? It's crazy. There's about two weeks a year you can order a new boat, and you might wait a year for it. I found the 1648 in stock a couple hours from me. Leftover 2021. Gonna pick it up Tuesday weather permitting. That should keep me busy for awhile wiring it and building it out.

I’ve been watching fishing videos and going online to check out some of the smaller bait companies to see what products they have.

Hope you get to feeling better. Some of my inner circle is getting it and some of my daily circle of people are coming down with it. They are not doing too bad in the full scheme of things. I hope I stay lucky. Hope you get to feeling better soon.

Couldn't agree more.  I will watch some videos on Bass U and Youtube but they are always on specific techniques I am looking to improve upon.  But no I  won't watch videos seeing people smash big bass since it only makes my cabin worse.

Quite honestly, I don't think I would fish year round even if I could.  I enjoy the changing of the seasons here which brings other activities into my every day life.  I'm not so excited about the frigid cold temps and deep snow in the middle of winter, but I've come to simply accept it if I want to live here.  I'm sure when July shows up it will be ungodly humid and hot out here which will drive me back inside to my air conditioned basement.

Open water fishing shows have recently started airing again now that its 2022.  Saturday mornings are filled with local new shows like Muskie Hunter, Midwest Outdoors, and Lindner's Angling Edge.  Sure beats watching some hooligan sit on the ice and stare down a hole trying to catch 6 inch sunfish.

I use the time off to service the boat and reels, and make baits for the upcoming year. This year I'll be busy trying to get everything ready to go by hopefully March. We'll see how long ol man winter decides to hang around.

All of my fishing after saying " THIS MY LAST CAST" is in honor of my BR brothers that can't be on the water.

Get well Catt.

Doctors haven't gave us anything so I'm taking Theraflu, BC powder, Pedialyte Advanced Care with immune support & old fashioned Vic's vapor rub.

Feel alot better today, hope y'all heal up soon.

Whatever it is must be going around. I'll felt rough for three days myself. My wife got a home covid test which came up negative. I wasn't surprised, because I don't believe in those test anyway. I'm eating eggs for protein, taking Theraflu, and drinking lots of water.  I'm ready to be done with it. I've been doing a lot of winter daydreaming also.
