I live in Kentucky and the weather is starting to reach a consistent 50-65 degrees (72 tomorrow). 
 

With that said, what are your top 3 lures to throw as we transition from winter to spring (where the water is still somewhat cold but getting warmer by the day)?

 

My three would be Jerkbait, Jig and Ned Rig.

The transition is called pre spawn, the bass are transitioning to the spawn. Lures that imitate the primary prey source in and around staging areas outside the spawning areas work well.

Lipless crank, spinnerbait and jig have been my go-to's lately. Yesterday I only caught 3, all on a gold spinnerbait. I changed my T-rigged craw over to a lizard today and I'll give that a try tomorrow. I've already caught one on the Plopper though.

Jerk bait jig and Ned rig right after ice out..as the water warms into the mid to high 40s I mix in spinnerbait, bladed jig and lipless.

After water temps climb out of the 30's simply because I don't catch largemouth bass in the 30's.

I catch Crappie and Smallmouth every year well before I catch my 1st largemouth and this year has been no exception.

JB, square bill, and chatter bait are getting it done right now, I carry some lipless, and a few 3" paddle tails and jig heads too this time of year. I just started catching multiple fish when I find them. They are about to get bunched up, good times. Once the water warms up a tad more, jigs and t-rigs get mixed in. 

When water temps get that high up here, I'm throwing just about anything in my tackle box.   Then again, that's sometime around late April, or early May.
