Looks like your team will be a powerhouse for quite some time.

As we used to say in Red Sox country before '04; "There's always next year" :)

  • Based on that math, if you had watched the Vikings this season, you'd be DEAD by now.

  • Haha.  On the radio this morning they said the only thing worse than the condition of the turf was the halftime show!

Was there a football game yesterday?

Tom Brady has retired again.  This time he says its for good.

I thought he should have hung it up this past offseason.  I hate seeing the greats go out on a sour note.  Tampa went 8-9 and won a terrible NFC South but got waxed in the wild card round by the Cowboys.  Still, its pretty astonishing that he could even still play QB at the pro level when he was 45.  He definitely defied father time.

Maybe Giselle will take him back?

He sure doesn’t have anything to prove.

I wonder what his 2024 retirement tribute will look like?

I already told the old lady to expect me late in the evenings..I’m filling out my physicals and giving it a run

Ok, got all the paperwork back and failed in every major category and backed that up with failing in the minor categories as well. Hell the docs didn’t know how I was still upright

Football won't feel the same without the GOAT.

I seriously doubt that we'll see another QB with as many accomplishments, especially post season.

I believe Mahomes has got to be 100% to deal with the Eagles D-line, best in the league.

Probably won't involve a Go Fund Me account.  Fox Has offered Tom

a 10 year, $375 M deal.  Then he has the  NFL pension and a few other

investments.

Might have lost half his fortune on crypto, maybe that’s why he won’t retire

The future looks bright. I hope Mr. Irrelevant fully recovers and you guys trade one of your

quarterbacks to Denver!

The 49ers will still be good next year, but not as good as in years past. They will likely lose their starting RT, DE (opposite Nick Bosa), and perhaps even both of their starting Safeties in free agency. They just lost their DC to the texans and they don't have any picks in 2023 better than the bottom of the 3rd round, and they have to extend CMC and Nick Bosa, too.

Somewhere, George Blanda is smiling.

@islandbass, It’s been competitive since the days of Zorn and Largent.

I'd put Manning as the GOAT

Brady was a cheating bum and people forget that Manning had a winning record against Brady in the playoffs.

Y'all could seriously put Payton Manning ahead of Tom Brady as the GOAT...... without cracking a smile ?

His results are what they are but he also was the benefactor of a lot of shady stuff going on and the refs wouldn't let anyone breathe on him without throwing a flag.  That doesn't mean he was the best at the position and Manning was more talented for sure and I don't think it is close

Smile? Guy was meticulous.

Manning probably had some gaudier numbers during his prime than Brady did. He certainly had some monster seasons in Indy and during that first season he went to Denver. Manning declined much sooner than Tom did though. Brady is 45 years old, and played at a very high level up until this past season, which is basically unheard of at the age of 44 for a pro quarterback. If I remember correctly, Manning hung it up when he was 40, when many NFL quarterbacks seem to kind of hit a wall.

You’d really have to dig into the stats for this one. Hard to argue with Brady’s overall longevity at a high level and 7 super bowl rings though. Those two aspects of his career are what separate him from the rest, IMO.

Manning broke his neck. More methodical QB than Brady. I put Brady in the top 3 but not the top. I say a shoot out between Brady and Favre for the #2 spot
