Situations like this make it tough to keep within site rules. Suffice to say you're both in my thoughts and prayers.

So, they discharged my wife this afternoon, mostly cuz Medicare couldn't justify her staying in the hospital, when she has to travel 1 1/2 hrs to the treatment center. I'm happy she's home, but then I wonder, was that move in her best interest..?

So now an ambulance comes to the house to transport her 30+ miles one way, which the round trip takes about 3 hrs or more..

One thing she said to me today that really unsettled me was, that she's not sure how long she has to live, I said you can't think like that, you have to stay Positive, and decide that your going to beat this. I sure hope she changes her outlook..

Tell her your fishing friends are with you and that we are pulling for her.

Another update. So my wife has been going to radiation therapy now for a week, everyday. Myself, and one of our very good friends have talked to her about her outlook on Beating this thing. I must say, she seems to have embraced it, meaning she is acting like this the beginning of a new chapter in her life and no the the last.

Although she still has a ton of pain, she is getting around much better, although the radiation leaves her feeling very tired, she does what little she can.

Once again, I and my Wife would like to Thank each and every one of you for all the Prayers and well wishes. Hope I'm not boring anyone with these updates.

I know what you’re going through @Hammer 4  prayers for you and your wife.

Having beaten stage 4 cancer it’s an emotional roller coaster. When I was diagnosed at 19 I was in college on my way to a good life! Then bam! I went through the just give up phase at the beginning, then after a few days it was we’re going to roll with the punches, then I’m going to beat this. My parents were basket cases (rightfully so) but after the initial shock wore off I kept a positive attitude and here I am 20 years later.

A positive attitude is everything! I feel that she’s going through the initial emotions we all do and she’s starting to come around. Being told you have cancer is something no one and I mean no one can understand until you’ve been told that.

PM me if you’d like to go more in depth with this conversation. No two cancer diagnosis are the same but at the end of the day we can all relate in some way.

You mentioned your wife’s cancer in her spine, I had two types, Hodgkin lymphoma and non Hodgkin lymphoma. The non Hodgkin was in my bone marrow and spinal fluid. I’ve been through several spinal taps and bone marrow draws, and chemo injections into the spinal fluid. Maybe related, maybe not. Just throwing that out there.

F cancer. Sorry you guys are going through this and you're in my thoughts and prayers. We've seen some miracles and praying that your wife will be one of them.

“Boring anyone”…C’Mon Man,

I’m sure I’m not just speaking for myself, you’re not boring anyone!

Even tho we may have never met, I consider you one of the many friends I’ve never met.
Both Mrs Mike and I say a prayer for your wife and your family in our daily prayers and will continue until you tell us she beat it.

Keep the faith brother

Mike

@Hammer 4

Hope you can tell your wife that hundreds (if not thousands) of BR folks

she doesn't even know are ALL Really Pulling for her.

The power of our community is strong my friend.

A-Jay

I had Non Hodgkin Lymphoma on the spine 22 years ago and have much compassion for the both of you.

As 12 pound said each situation is different but staying strong and keeping the faith is very important imo. I appreciate the updates and will continue to pray.

  • Super User

Give us all the updates you want. I don't want to speak for everyone, but we are all pulling for her and look forward to all the positive updates we can get. Tell her to keep up the good spirits and there are many, many people pulling for her and asking God to watch over her.
