The time has come for the 2023 Fantasy Fishing season to begin. For those unfamiliar, we have been doing this for a few years now as a fun way to compete and have a little fun among all our members. Do you think you have what it takes to take home 1st place for the season?

We encourage all members to play along. Just pick your anglers prior to each BASS Elite event and share them (or don't) with the group. It's all part of the fun!

2023 Season Recap   Champion - lmoore Runner Up - finessegenics   And just like that, our 2023 season is a wrap. I'd like to thank all the people who played along this season

  • I won a tacklewarehouse top ten in the nation twice. The amount of gear tacklewarehouse sent me was nothing short of ridiculous. Back to back years 2015/2016. I gave so many baits to kids I have

Woohoo!         Yup, this was 4th place prize I got for one of the events last season:   Another BR member won a higher prize the year before.

Lets see if I can do better this year.

I do not have what it takes for first place but, I will laugh the whole way to last.

Dude.  Its like throwing darts at a board, blind folded.

Even if you don't do well in our forum standings, if you do REALLY well in one event they give out prizes.  Someone on here won a prize package last year.

First year I entered - I knew about 3 names.

If they're scattered across all five groups...2 or more in the same group, better learn some new names.

Woohoo!

So you're not playing this year to give the rest of us a better chance....right?

Right???

Always a good time. I'm in. I think this year I'm going to pull names out of a hat. I'd venture a guess I'd finish higher in the ranks with this method.

I started playing to win prizes , havent won a thing yet. I did not expect to enjoy selecting my team then watching BassMaster live to see how they are faring . My picks for the first event are

A Cook

B Blaylock

C Schmitt

D Crews

E Cherry

I'll play again this year. Now, if i pay attention, i will enter EVERY tourney. ?

I gave so many baits to kids I have lost count. Literally opened boxes and said, take anything you want.

Heres my 5th place

Bad part was I already had a skeeter filled to the brim. I haven't played since the second win. Still going through so much tackle that I can't even own a bait monkey. Walked out to the garage before I went to order the other day, came back in and closed the browser.

Thats more then everything I own now lol

Woot woot! I’ve been waiting for this. Haven’t been active on BR for a while but I’ll definitely participate in this

Glad to see some familiar faces and some new ones. I think this is the sixth year I've ran this (maybe seventh?). I always enjoy the banter leading up to the tournaments and then following along during the events.

If anyone is new here, or just wants to reminiscence, here's last year's thread.

We are officially sticky'd for the year. Let's go!

Here again to lock up my middle ranking! Always nice to live vicariously since we are about to get a huge pile of snow tonight. Spring cannot get here soon enough. Good luck fellas.

I'm in! Hopefully I can do better this season.

So to note, one of my wins was FLW and the other was BASS

Things I did to win

1: Checked the water/weather conditions before the tournament

- a cold front can turn a smash fest into a dropshot video game fishing tournament

2: Knew angler strengths on each side

 - If youre going to a smallmouth fishery, the guys who flip dont usually win that

3: Looked for high odds locals (though this can hurt you)

4: The biggest favorite to win usually doesnt win, spend your "budget" wisely, its better to have 4 pretty good guys and a hammer then to have 3 top ranked for the tournament guys who blow it.

5: Never ever count out the big power sticks: KVD, Hackney, Martens(RIP), Wheeler, Palaniuk... if theyve won AOY or multiple AOY's and it fishes their style...
