For the first time in my 40 years of life the Lions have the best record in the NFL! ?

  • This is all so stupid. The only reason anyone is hip drop tackling is because they get flagged for any other tackle. Can’t hit the head can’t hit the legs can’t drive to the ground can’t land on them,

The night started with the teams with the best records in each conference and billed as a potential Super Bowl matchup on National television. Hats off to Baltimore, they played mistake free football and won convincingly. Purdy had the worst day as a pro throwing 4 interceptions with Darnold chipping in one more at the end of regulation.
At the end of the day both teams were still the #1 seed in their respective conferences. The Niners have some things to clean up in facing the Ravens down the line, but in the meantime they have to take care to business this Sunday in DC.

There's an explanation for that game:

Crazy resemblance. Saw that post on Twitter...or rather, X today. The other

one that I cannot find was something to the effect of "how do you score

14 points in less than 2 minutes? You bundle them" or something like that

mocking Mahomes his State Farm commercials.

Tom Crean, former IU men’s basketball coach, is married to John & Jim’s sister Joani. I wonder if during moments of intimacy he gets images of Jim stuck in his mind? 😳😳😳

This is an interesting one.

Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander has been suspended 1 game by the team for participating in the coin toss at midfield prior to last Sunday's game in Carolina.  He was not selected as a captain for this game, but decided to walk out there on his own since he's from Charlotte, NC and felt he should be out there.  :naughty:

Actually, I think that is the public reason.  The real reason is because he has been playing like ass.  And he played the coinflip as poorly.  He very nearly gave the Panthers the ball to start both halves

@gimruis I heard this clown giving an interview about it afterwards on my local sports show and man that kid is really something. The scariest part to me is he honestly doesn’t think he did anything wrong. @12poundbass I can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic but that’s exactly how he came across in the interview about the situation. I would be mortified if any of my kids behaved like that.

  • Super User

@Eric 26 I think he may be the highest paid cornerback in the league?

  • Super User

@gimruis That’s not saying a lot for Green Bay or the NFL imho. Everyone else’s opinion may vary 😉

Here you go.  He makes $21 mil/year.  Highest paid CB in the league, indeed.

NFL's highest paid cornerbacks in 2023 (average salary per year):
  • Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander: $21 million.
  • Browns cornerback Denzel Ward: $20.1 million.
  • Dolphins cornerback Jalen Ramsey: $20 million.
  • Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey: $19.5 million.
  • Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore: $19.4 million.

@gimruis Again after hearing his interview I stand by my above statement 😉

Cowboys and the referees won in the end in spite of some bone-headed play calling by head coach Mike McCarthy ...

Fixed it for you.

After careful review of this call last night, I believe it was the correct call.  You must declare yourself eligible prior to the play, and this individual did not.

The bigger issue I have is why Detroit went for two points the second time after they were assessed the penalty.  At that point, kick the extra point and take your chances in OT.  Poor decision making by Campbell IMO.

Detroit certainly played a good game in a hostile environment.  Dallas has shredded opponents at home this season and they were averaging 40 points/game at home.  Holding them to 20 is a feat on its own.  I'd say the roar has still been restored.

Once again analytics ruins an otherwise great game.

The Lions 1000% lost that game because of analytics.   One of the most extreme and obvious losses because of them as well.

Wish washy coaches can now yield to the "analytics" when things blow up, "well, that's what the analytics said to do, can't blame me"........lol after he fails twice in a row for a two point try......sure go ahead and try a third 🤣

It's a moot point anyways as long as Goff is the QB, guy misses the most rudimentary throws.

@gimruis I’m sorry but I have to ask how can you honestly know what the individual said to the referee that you’re positive he didn’t declare himself when he spoke to the referee 🤔 Even Troy Aikmen who bleeds Cowboys blue said as much last night. Not picking a fight but would honestly love to know before I erase the game.

I went by what @greentrout posted above.  You're right, I was not on the field so I can't comment on the words that were exchanged.  My understanding is that you have to not only verbally declare yourself as eligible, but also visually and the individual in question did not do that prior to the play.

Regardless, going for 2 pts a second time after the penalty was a dumb move by Campbell.

LOL!  I love how the Dallas media leaves out the most crucial part of the story:  The NFL has dished out punishments to the entire officiating crew!

So ya, the officials did indeed blow that call, and the NFL agrees.
