What ONE new bait for 2026 are you telling everyone they should try?

Megabass Karashi 80, tough to find a pic since they technically don't exist yet.

The original Karashi is a ton of fun to fish but not the most accessible since you really need a BFS rig to run it properly.

Really looking forward to a full size version that can be thrown on regular casting gear, and hooks that don't explode when you look at them funny.

Ooohhhh….you got me…available jdm yet?

I recommend they try everything, then tell me what works.

I haven’t tried a single new bait for 2026 so I can’t honestly say! But I always recommend people fish worms. Boy do worms work for bass fish.

If you aren't fishing any bigger soft swimbaits, the 6th Sense Super Sweep swimbait. It fishes "bigger" than a similar sized 5" swimbait, probably about 6 1/2. But very fishable on a heavy rod, so no

@Smirak there's a SW 80 but I don't think the fresh water is available yet. They're in the 2026 megabass lucky box which was on sale at the hookup for about 90 seconds before they got cleaned out. In their Sunday video the mentioned march-may official release.

I'm not one to tell anyone what to use, but I do have one new one I'm gonna try this year, Berkeley Flux Gill.

After fishing one of "my" lakes this past fall the amount of small blue gills was unreal. There were so many of them is spots they were just running into my line constantly.

Saw these and convinced myself I need these, we'll see if they work.

@herder - i had that thought about the Gilly when it came out. I picked up a pack of first release small size and have throw it all of twice. I hope the flux works out better for you than the gilly for me.

Crush City Mooch Minnow. That thing just straight up catches them(my avatar is my PB smallmouth caught on a MM)

"I hope the flux works out better for you than the gilly for me."

Well I hope so too, and if not It will just be another addition to the island of misfit lures 😃

Same as always

Carolina rig and speedcraw

Reversed Fat Ika

"Lil jig" small football jig

I’m gonna say weightless caffeine shad. I did great on them in the spring. Literally caught me a ton of fish and easy bites on the fall.

Now mine that I’m trying new this year will be the bellows gill. I bought on pack just to see what all the hubbub is about. We shall see.

Zoom Lizard

Tiny Torpedo

GYCB Hula Grub

Not new! But when was the last time you tried them?

1/2 oz spinnerbait, dark head, white/chartreuse skirt, #7 & #4 hammered copper Indiana blades, no trailer. Slow, medium, or fast-trial and error,

1/2 oz golden shiner swim jig, edges of vegetation.

Magnum junebug lizard, t rigged, springtime. February and March for me.

Going to tell people to try the under spin jig with keitech paddle tail trailer. It was one of my favorites last year.

I’m going to try the 6 in pearl mega bass magdraft. The freestyle option and the rigged option. Never tried either one and super excited to see what they are all about.

I'm waiting to try the new Karashi prop bait!

Fine art Ghost Wakasagi is an awesome color. Where do I find one of those baits.

Probably micro jigs. If you're averse to fishing a Ned rig, it seems like they are a good replacement option. I'm really surprised with how often I can get bit on a micro jig when they aren't on the Ned as well, especially with smallmouth on a micro football jig. The little casting micro jigs just catch everything and all sizes, just like a Ned rig, but it's not a Ned rig, so you're safe 😂

It's not new but maybe new to you. The Nikko Hellgrammite 3 & 4.25" size. I'm not sure if our LM & Spots love them or hate them, but they eat them. From now through the Summer a T " Rigged hellgrammite wears them out.

I cant recommend this bait as I haven't used it, but I came across it last night, and looks like it could be good. The Riot Vigilante

Got one that's new and under the radar. I personally haven't tried it yet but I got a few packs to try out. Looks amazing. Its got built in rattle and the head is made for a nail weight.

@Bluebasser86 - If microjigs are your thing, i really love the sieberts lil man with a trailer of your choice. Pick your favorite ned rig plastic and just stick it on the back. Basically a ned rig with a skinny skirt. They look awesome in the water with a bunch of different trailers. Just real fishy.

@Smirak @Munkin Karashi 80 is releasing this Sunday 3/15

Yep - saw that this morning after I ordered the mystery bento (yesterday). Already have it on my calendar…TN Shad and Pink Kyongo will be in my cart at 8am AZ time…

What are the chances the Karashi 80 is as good of a fish catcher as the original? Also, the original is fun but I’ve only ever caught dinks on it. Has anyone caught a fish over 4lbs on the original Karashi?

I prefer an underspin usually - 7/0 works best so it's trokar or 6th sense as the beast hooks don't fit quite right.

Dinks won't eat but anything 2lbs and over will. Fishes well in grass and trees/laydowns, can fish reasonably deep because the body is thin and has very little lift.

Doesn't blow out at speed.

It is a significantly larger bait than 95% of what's going by them.

Excellent suggestion that I recently bought to use. I found that the Core 7/0 Tush hook works really well either exposed hook or concealed.

Black Label Cliff Pace Snapshot and a 1/2oz white double willow spinnerbait.

BL has a few worms that caught my eye as well.

I really wish they had a GP option. It would be great for a mini evo

They have one called Spiced Pumpkin and another that's called Mamba that's a little bit of everything but nothing yet that's like the GP Spunk Shad. I'll probably be using this bait on a Neko rig.
