New Bait From Keitech

Featured Replies

  • Super User

About the only thing I get from Keitech these days is the Fat Impact and the Easy Shiner but I have had this bait in the back my head for years. I asked a few different companies to make something like it but it never happened. I wanted a tube that was solid with heavy salt on the inside but had the regular tube material on the outside. I also wanted it to be at least a 1/2oz so I didn't have to fuss with a weight. Well it only took about 25+ years.

Definitely going to be picking some of these up. What do you guys think? Might be the only bait I have seen so far for 2026 that is actually worthwhile.

I'm game. I could pitch that with a 1/8oz weight or no weight.

Interesting concept.

Prove effective in my mind.

As there aren't too many hollow worms,

and they've caught a few bass.

I ordered a few.

Let's see how it goes.

Thanks @FishTank

Here's what I think:

I want a moratorium on new baits until 2100. That might give me enough time to try all the current baits if I can just manage to live another 74 years and fish 365 days a year. Heck, I'd need 25 years to use all the baits in my basement.

Bass pro shops used to make a weighted plastic insert for tubes. T rig it and fell horizontal. I haven’t seen it for a while. But yea gonna give them a shot for sure

Those have been around for a while. Longer and heavier than a fat ika. Don't glide as far an an ika, drop faster. Use a screwlock 4/0 or 5/0. Pretty durable but once the guts get torn up you can only mend-it so much. They do have a nice Junebug colored one though.

You can take a regular tube, slather some smelly jelly or megastrike on a senko and push it in the tube and cut off the extra. Can fine tune the weight/glide with different tubes and senkos

I think I got duped by an article on Facebook and it was from Keitech USA. I have never seen these and the post I read was dated a few days ago. After a quick google search, I found a video from a long time ago. Once again, you can't believe everything you read on the internet.

@FishTank thats funny this was brought up because I thought I was going insane.

Each year I add extras to my bait order list, and these have been on there many times. But… as the “essential” items increase, the fat needs to be trimmed and I never pulled the trigger.

I usually fish a fat ika with a bullet weight, so I may not need weight for this bait. This has dock skipping written all over it for me.

I’ve added these back to the list. We’ll see what happens.

Interesting. I’ve never actually fished a tube before. Maybe this is my time to give them a go.

I was going to say these have been our for awhile.

Is it just me, or does this defeat the purpose of a tube? Why fill it when you normally put the jighead inside? I guess it could be softer on the inside and hold the jighead in better, except jigheads dont normally fall out anyway. Maybe it's me, and I'm out here looking like an idiot for not knowing.

The way it's rigged is weedless unlike a regular tube. I've fished the Fat Ika (similar) through heavy grass and mats. I'm also guessing these skip better.

You're not going crazy.

I just saw this come up the other day as well. Like you I thought it was new.

I don't even have Facebook.

This is my go-to dock bait rigged backwards with an Owner Haymaker hook. Give it some slack as it hits the water and it will gide under the dock. You can do the same with laydowns.

Is it possible it was a JDM bait that wasn't sold in the US until now?

This often happens with JDM baits.

If you want to back slide for days, try the Decoy Worm 103 Back Switcher. It's made specifically for that technique.
