ABrugs
I bought my first spinning setup and I'm amped to use it! I have the G. Loomis NRX+ 842S SJR paired w/ the Shimano Stradic FL 2500. ^ This + my NRX+ 842C MBR paired w/ a Shimano Curado MGL 150 are my 2 setups going into the 2023 season.

T2DM
My first ever St. Croix Rod (Premier Bass Pro Exclusive 6'-6" Med light). It's not a high-end rod or anything but man this thing is pretty dang sensitive. Paired it with Stradic FL1000 and I loving this setup!

Cbump
How can you beat this shipping time from digitaka? Ordered 2/20.
Super User bulldog1935 Posted February 23 Super User Share Posted February 23 still not delivered in over 50 hours. My record result was the beginning of this month, 40 hours door-to-door.
Cbump
I wasn’t even expecting It to ship until the 27th. When I ordered the website said they were closed for inventory and all orders would ship on the 27th. Then I got shipping notice next day!

ska4fun
The newest acquisition by the resident Shimano hater on bassresource. Decent, but I'm not really impressed by it. The cheapness of the brake dial show how its truly a Shimano reel. The Tatula Tw80/SV70 (bfs spool), Revo ALX (bfs spool) and the Kestrel Elite are way better reels. 4
Cbump
First shimano! How would y’all set the internal and external brakes up on this reel for pitching? Also what’s preferred spool tension on these?

Middle of the dial on setting adjusting as needed and just a smidge more spool tension than what is needed to remove side to side play. More if using a clear slinky for line.
Darnold335
The line up as of now! I am going to replace some of the spinning reels with ultegras eventually. I love the look of having all the same rod/reel.

I had a 301 and loved it- wish I kept it to put on my big boy rod! I regret selling it as a package with my Tequila Baccarac which was not an ideal pairing. Also what’s preferred spool tension on these? I'd start with all four brakes on and the brake setting to 4-5. Set spool tension to just enough so there is a very little side to side play in the spool. Like a 1/32nd of a inch. I was in the two on two off camp for a long time. But when I was throwing lighter baits it was pretty twitchy and would get small birds nests if it was a less then perfect cast. The newer Shimano's I have seem to perform much better with all of the brakes on and then adjust the dial setting to about 4 or 5. Heavier lure or windy day I'd up the dial to 10 or 12 for best performance. FM
Cbump
6 minutes ago, Fishingmickey said: 10 or 12 for best My dials on the Met and Bantam go up to 6 only. On the Met, I did the 2 on 2 off and the dial on 3 and casted farther than my Daiwas and smooth as butter. No issues. Haven’t played with the Bantam yet but so far I put the brakes 3 on 3 off and dial on 3. My Met is going to be used for 1/2oz minimum jigs and t-rigs. My Bantam for 3/8-1/2 swim jigs and chatterbaits plus trailer.

I just recently got them and love them. I have two 500s for musky as well.
